Just checked my 30 most wanted DVD titles (mostly catalog stuff) and almost all of them are cheaper at Digital Eyes. Looks like they will be getting the bulk of my orders during the sale.

I pretty much do that with TV sets that I probably won't get around to watching for a while. Got a bunch of them this time around.

Let's jump in our time machine and ask them before they merged with DVDPlanet two years ago.

Cool. I have some old Reel.com coupon codes I never used.

Yeah seriously, I can't believe that a site that's never offered a 20% off promotion on CDs dares to continue not offering a 20% off promotion on CDs!

I was just going around the forums, and one of the ads at the top of the page was for the sale - said that it lasted until 11/25 and listed the code DVDTALK, but the code doesn't work on the site yet...

I agree that sucks. I think the reasoning has to do with the record companies not budging on prices of CDs vs. the studios giving huge discounts for DVDs.

YEAH - advert is up when you trawl thru the site - comes up now and again - however - the code isnt working on DD at this stage.

Someone is a tad premature at DVDTalk ??

I just checked some random titles that I have in my wishlist at DD with DVDPlanet prices and DD has them beat.

I love DDD but my biggest problem is the delivery times (yes, I know S&H is free). The normal 10+ days shipping times sometimes even doubles during the 20% sale (and yes, I undestand why).

One thing I noticed the last two sales was that my first BIG order (using code DVDTALK, thank you very much) would arrive within 2 days with UPS, even though I opted for free shipping. My next couple of orders (2 or 3 DVDs max) would always ship normally (i.e. 2 weeks).

I'm assuming that DDD express ships large orders regardless of the shipping option chosen (I just noticed that I use brackets alot). So the question is: Does anyone know how big the order has to be to get free express shipping? Or am I the only one this happened to?

A few years ago, someone figured out that orders over $200 get shipped via UPS, but I don't know how reliable that figure is anymore.

Can anybody answer this question for me?

There is something i want that is about $35 at Deep Discount but at Amazon it is $19.99 I assume DD would price match it at $19.99 but would i be lucky enough to get an additional 20% off that price?

Thanks.

Well as i said in the price jump thread: I've got orders worth over $250 and they came in about 5 business days to Australia....so maybe over $250 now?

You might get lucky and have DD pricematch, that has happened on occassion, but very rarely. Sometimes the site will drop some prices to match an item currently on sale elsewhere. And there is also the slight chance you'll also get the extra 20% off, but again, that's a rare occassion.

So you are saying often DD are too slack and won't reply to my email to fix it up?

I like the old digitaleyes name better than dvdplanet, since it meant it wouldnt say 'DVD' anywhere on my credit card bill.
