I got in on that! And their site was so hammered, that it was about impossible to get the order done. (Not to mention we were just about all on dialup connections in those days....)

I remember that. I got up at 5:30 the next morning to place my order. It was a workday anyhow so it was no big deal.

I still miss the old reel.com days with lots of coupons and frequent free shipping.

Sweet. I would love to be wrong on this one. My credit has been burning a hole in my pocket also. :-)

I'm not so sure it's active. I just tried buying the TP gold set - I entered the code - it looked like it would apply it. I went to the final page to pay. The "total" said the lower amount with the discount - but at the bottom, under final price - it had the FULL price!!! So watch out!!

L nny

ADDENDUM: Went through with the purchase anyway, on Dave's advice that the codes were working, and it went through fine!

We have shipping software where I work that allows you to automatically choose the cheapest method of delivery. It normally goes by the weight of the package, and I've noticed lighter packages usually are cheaper through the post office (if shipped locally) and heavier stuff by UPS. DDD might be using a similar program.

Just place first order using code SUPERSALE

All seem to go through fine ... ond final confimation page the totoal to be chared to my card reflected the discount. I do wish the prices would each change like it used to, but if I remember the last sale was the same way with the prices remaining the same and the discount taken off the final total.

Picked up:

MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER - SET 12
DARK SHADOWS - THE BEGINNING 1
DARK SHADOWS - THE BEGINNING 2
CIRCUS OF HORRORS / THEATRE OF DEATH

Might I add that the price of each of the Dark Shadows sets was only $29.89 to begin with, so the discount makes them only $23.91 each!!!

Does DDD pull DVDs off their site during the sale?

I was waiting to buy After Life and Maborosi, two excellent Kore-eda films. They were there a couple of days ago and now they're gone...

Don't know which studio(s) those are, but it is possible the specific studio requested their title(s) not to be included in the sale.

I usually let it stay for a few days so people hopefully read and hopefully answer questions themselves, as questions kind of get lost in the main thread..

All Creatures Great and Small Entire Collection $215.00 with discount. This is 7 years and several specials that go for $50 or more each. Contains 28 disc List @ $400 and cheapest was about $260. This is a great, great series for anyone who loves animals and British TV at its best.

Is there a way to get them to adjust the price on something? The Bart head Simpsons season 10 is $2.50 cheaper than the standard case, even though its the same DVD set outside of the packaging. This isnt because of the packaging either, as the Lisa head season 9 is $8.00 more than the standard case. Shouldnt these cost the same?

Are you able to order more than once? Because I have a couple of things I want to order now but later I want to order more. I had thought you couldn't because last time they had the sale I tried and it wouldn't let me, but I thought it sounded like someone else had been able to so maybe I just tried using the same code the second time and you have to use a different one or something.

You can only use each code once. You can order as many times as you like as long as it is a different code each time.

I appreciate the discount but it has to be the most poorly constructed retail web site ever. It is the only web site that doesnt allow you to make changes or order cancellations while the order is processing without contacting them directly by phone or via email request. Customer service is absolutely aweful as well. I was on hold so long last time that I just said fuck it and emailed them. Had to wait 3 days to get a response that way.

This may have been asked before but I don't have time to read the whole faq. What time do the Tuesday releases change from preorder to order status available for the discount? Midnight eastern, pacific, or something else? Thanks in advance.

Goodies arrive today

UPS tracking number indicates my package is scheduled for delivery today. Not bad, only 5 days from DDD order to house. Now to find the time to watch it all.

another code that works is just "deal" as if we need another code ... (and no, I don't have any relationship to the people who have the "deal" word as a code, I just saw it on a banner at a random website I visted that I don't even remember what it was anymore).
