VA Center Commons. Selection was pretty good in both BR and HD-DVD.

Several titles I was looking for didn't exist but there was still about 3 full racks of each format to choose from.

I would have gotten more but I had already spent $75 on BRs at Amazon today and $70 on BRs through frys.com on Friday.

I really crossing my fingers for Transformers and something else tomorrow.

STAY AWAY from the Gaskins store...it is being remodeled and doesn't have jack squat...seriously, you could count the number of HD titles they have on one hand, I don't even know why they are open....

I went today to Short Pump, VA Center Commons, and Chesterfield to get all of the HD-DVDs I wanted:
Billy Madison
Breakfast Club
Casablanca
Casino
Coming To America
End Of Days
Fast Times At Ridgemont High
Half Baked
Happy Gilmore
Hulk
Mission Impossible
MI:2
Red Dragon
Scooby Doo

Even rebought Bourne Identity and Blades Of Glory to return them to Target since half price was much much better than their $5 off coupon that past month or two....

Also got a few Blus:
Basic Instinct
Casino Royale
Open Season
Wild Things

I rebought Underworld and Halloween to return to Walmart (obviously 12.50 apiece beats the $20 each I had paid there just a week or two ago, gotta save those receipts people....)

Now to take all the standard def DVDs I'm upgrading from to Moviestop and do the 4 for $20 trade in and reserve all the high def titles for the rest of this year!

I plan to try this tomorrow on HD-DVD and if it does not work then I will simply tell them I don't want the second one.

Lets hope this still works tomorrow.

Thanks GCS and WMAangel! I totally forgot there was a CC by VA Center Commons, I may try there too. It's about time the Gaskins store got a remodel job. That store has been horrible since I moved to Richmond.

Also, WMAangel.....do you know if the second Movie Stop on Midlothian Tpk is open yet? I keep forgetting to ask the people at the Harbour Pointe store.

It IS YMMV for HD DVD, as the sale is not supposed to include HD.
I don't think ALL BDs are supposed to be part of the B1G1. I think it's supposed to be the same ones that are on sale at BB, Amazon, etc. The Fox titles should definitely not be included in this sale, but they're coming up B1G1.

Worked fine at the new CC store in Bolingbrook, IL. Got Dawn of the Dead and Shooter on HD and The Departed, 300, Troy and the Patriot on BD. Troy was marked $29.99 but rang up $24.99 before the half-off. Scan of receipt is attached so maybe once this deal is dead PM to Best Buy possibilities may exist. Many thanks to OP!!

Did not work at Tyson's Corner East CC. They looked it up in the computer and found that it is only good at certain stores.

The more i think about this, I am glad that I didn't get my 20 discs.

We've all been fooled into thinking that HD discs are supposed to be higher priced and that $15 is a great bargain.

Nope, I'm sticking with the $5 rule. The prices will come down.

Like I said earlier in the thread, they need to enter "02" when the promotion box pops up. The prices will NOT automatically come up B1G1F. At the 2nd store I went to, I just told them right away "these should be B1G1F", then I watched them enter the "02" promotion code. If you don't say anything, your odds are worse. Just tell them, so when the promotion box comes up they are more likely to choose the right option (there are only 2 options--"01" for regular price, or "02" for promotion price). I've witnessed this at 2 stores, so I'm sure that's how it works everywhere...

I see what you're saying, but that may be a long time from now. I'm happy with paying $12.50 or $15 for HD titles, and I have seriously curbed my purchase of SD movies. I really only want HD-DVD now. It's better to pay a little more now and really enjoy the movies in my home theater, than to buy SD now for $5 and upgrade to the HD version in a few years for $5 (IF that ever happens). CH might never make HD part of the enrollment or B1G1 deals. Right now, I don't want to wait. I'm not going totally crazy. I bought 8 titles yesterday, and I'm satisfied (well, I'll try for Transformers today). It's just too good of a deal to pass up on...

I see your logic, but still plan to wait for better bargains. To me, the difference between HD and upconverted SD is not worth even $5 per title. But that is because I buy so many titles and it the $ difference really adds up. If I was a more minimalist collector, I could see going ahead w/ HD.

And btw, HD is included in the B1G1 (or B2G3) deals at CH. So far, all my HD purchases have been either the freebies from the amazon deal and get 5 free rebates, sub $10 deals, or part of B1G1 at CH.

Did you happen to see which stores?

Same here for the most part. I'll only break the rule for movies that I'll watch multiple times.

Do you have to order over the phone to do this? I made an online purchase yesterday to fulfill my commitment and it wouldn't let me pick an HD DVD as the free one.

CH won't let you take an HD title as the freebie. You also cannot take it as an enrollment nor apply Fun Cash to it. If you still purchase the occasional SD title(such as Death Proof), then you can get an HD title and an SD title for around $22 shipped.

I'm heading out to CC right now in hopes of Transformers and another HD/BR title. Wish me luck!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to post back for at least a couple of hours. The closest CC is a 35 minute drive and I'm also going to hit up Costco while I'm out. I'll certainly post my findings when I get back.

A poster at avsforum just reported that he was able to get Transformers for $15 as part of a BOGO and he also got a free hat! He was at a CC in Michigan.

Awesome. Guess I'll be leaving even earlier to get that hat right when they open at 10.

A mix of HD and Blu Ray titles worked last night in Auburn Hills, MI. Picked up six discs for $87. All were priced $24.99 or $29.99. Thinking of making another run later in the week...

Thank you, OP. Checked a few stores in MN for the HD-DVD B1G1:

Maplewood - Denied.
Northtown - 2 sales folks came over to tell me about the deal as I was browsing, rang up B1G1 though it did take awhile.
Roseville - B1G1 worked during checkout.

I wish they would get their stuff together and either do the sale all the way across the board or not. It sucks that it comes down to being a toss up.

That's friggin' incredible!! He's definitely a devoted poster!

So, on another note, do we actually have confirmation that this "sale" is good until Saturday, at least for Blu-Rays priced $24.99 and $29.99?
