I meant you can't take an HD-DVD as the free title, nor as an enrollment title. I hope we can in the future, but that's a deal killer for me. I don't want to buy any more SD, except for the titles only available on Blu Ray that I want. But since CH doesn't carry Disney and Fox (well, I see they are starting to get Fox), my SD purchases through CH are few and far between. So I've stopped recyclying my accounts...

Denied at the CC by Baybrook Mall in Webster, TX. I'm not sure if it would work there with others but I tried with Transformers and Disturbia and when they rang up full price I said they were supposed to be buy one get one free and the cashier said not with Transformers. I'm going to try a different CC in a little while.

Just got Transformers and the Troy DC for ~$30. The register was giving the girl some trouble, but she finally said "oh, I guess these are buy one get one" and pushed it through.

My CC didn't have any HD DVD Transformers in the store this morning. Looks like my deals for the week are over.

Transformers is the only HD-DVD I want. Is there a way to get one HD-DVD and one Blu-Ray and get the deal to work?

Got Transformers, Troy: DC, Full Metal Jacket, and NiN:BYiT for less than 2x what I was going to pay for Transformers anyway. Plus I got an Autobot baseball cap that I'll never wear, but it's mine!

I may have to get Transformers on HD-DVD now. I only have a few HD-DVD's, so this may be the time to get one. Maybe get TWO Transformers....one for me, one to offset the cost a bit.

I just tried it in nashville... picked up HD Transformers... and Blu-Ray 300... and got the free Transformers cap (their last one!)... and the total was $15.00 each! so it DOES work when you buy 1 HD and 1 BR!!!!!

Wish I would have read this whole thread first, had no idea blue Rays were involved too.

And it was the Sterling Circuit City.

Had no idea blu-rays were involved when the thread title specifically mentions blu-rays?

How were you able to manage that? My copy of Transformers was $15.00(I did get the cap though). For anyone having trouble locating the Transformers HD, check at the Customer Service Desk. My CC(Milford, CT) only had the HDs in a stack behind the desk.

This is a great deal overall but it can be frustrating. I have yet to be denied anywhere and all the clerks who have checked me out have just punched through the whole thing and given me the discount.

As mentioned the 2 keys to this deal are

1. All titles must be $29.99 or less .. nothing over unless you get lucky.

2. Let everything ring up and let them get to the end (ie just before you pay) and check the total. It should be about 1/2 of what the titles added up to be from their stickers. If not then say something otherwise just let it.

At my store the cashier simply had to ring them up and answer yes to the discount question on the screen. It immediately came up after ALL titles were scanned and they went to the payment screen. Before that NOTHING comes up about a discount.

Relax and be patient and it will work. There is no need to push it.

I for one am very happy with all the deals that have come up recently -- both HD-DVD and BR. I only wish this would happen again in mid-late November to capture some of those nice BR releases coming up. Oh well it matters not as this week has bankrupted me anyway.

Enjoy your movies!!

Greg

I picked up a few HD-DVDs for $12.50 each at the Union City CA store. No problem at all. In fact, the cashier seemed well aware of the deal when I asked her about it so I'm guessing this is a legitimate (albeit unadvertised) sale. They had at least 50 copies of the Transformers HD-DVD stacked and ready to go out the door.

I got 300 and 28 weeks later from CC.

Was wanting F4:ROTSS but they didnt have it. Hopefully I can exchange 28 for that when they do get it in or at another CC. The lady said I could but the $15 price on the receipt is whats worrying me.
