Just a thought... let your friend buy the Herzog set and you buy something else. Then lend each set to the other for a couple weeks. If I had a friend with the Herzog/Kinski set I never would have bought it.

As far as Guinness vs Peter Sellers – dman988 you’re right, the six movies in the Alec Guinness collection have higher IMDB ratings. The main difference appears that the Alec Guinness movies appear to be all early ‘50s comedies, while the Peter Sellers appear to be late ‘50s through mid ‘60s. Different era, may be different style of comedy. I would say that a person would do good to just pick up both sets for $36 total. For what it's worth, "Lady Killers", in the Alec Guinness collection, also stars Peter Sellers.

If I hadn't spent so much last week I'd probably pick up both sets. I spent a little under $60 total for Seasons 1 through 4 of Northern Exposure, then spent $70 on two 512MB MP3 players (Sandisk). Though a couple seasons of Doogie Howser for $18 sounds tempting... I need to figure out if my soon to be 9-year old soon would like it.

Did you by any chance use "Bill Me Later" because when they don't approve the order, DDD automatically cancels the order. And if you used a credit card you may want to call up DDD and ask them what is up.

Too bad I already have them. Although, with the type of packaging it has with the clear plastic disk flaps, I'd be leary about ordering them from DDD. It was hard enough finding undamaged ones in stores.

The Titus sets are very tempting.

Columbo is released by Universal, not Anchor Bay. Columbo is a part of a different sale.

That'd be my guess as well. I've had a couple of Bill Me Later orders just cancelled outright.

As for my order from this sale, it shipped today.

I got the Three's Company discs today and I have to say I am pleased with the packing unlike Amazon that put the one of the Three's Company DVDs in a box that is so tight that it dented on the side and broke the glass in a million pieces..the DVDs were in perfect condition, to DeepDiscountDVD!

I will be buying all Doogie Howser seasons next week

Here's the thing. We're from the same town, but we go to college thousands of miles away from each other. That's why we each want our own set. Good suggestion though if it were under normal circumstances.

As of know, I've only submitted one order.

1 ABD012326 DVD : CRIME STORY-2ND SEASON $ In-stock
1 ABD013779 DVD : CRIME STORY-1ST SEASON $23.99 In-stock

Merchandise Total: $23.99
Tax: $1.74
Shipping & Processing: $.00

Total for this Order: $25.73

That may be, but Columbo is clearly show on here, and when I click it, it takes me to the b1g1 page.

Offer ends Sept 5th. So I'll probably pick up Roseanne S4 and Sleepaway Camp Trilogy the weekend before.

My DDD order

Here are my orders:

Order 1:
XENA-WARRIOR PRINCESS-2ND SEASON $29.99
XENA-WARRIOR PRINCESS-3RD SEASON $29.99
XENA-WARRIOR PRINCESS-5TH SEASON $29.99
XENA-WARRIOR PRINCESS-4TH SEASON $0.00
XENA-WARRIOR PRINCESS-1ST SEASON $0.00
XENA-WARRIOR PRINCESS-6TH SEASON $0.00

Order 2:
EVIL DEAD 2-BOOK OF THE DEAD $23.99
HERCULES-5TH SEASON $17.99
HERCULES-6TH SEASON $17.99
HERCULES-1ST SEASON $11.99
HERCULES-4TH SEASON $0.00
HERCULES-2ND SEASON $0.00
HERCULES-3RD SEASON $0.00

WOW!! What a deal! Too bad I just bought all of the Highlanders about 6 months ago! Oh well.

I'm not sure why Hecules SEASON ONE was not available in the b1g1 offer, but I did find them selling the season for $11.99 (Heck of a deal!).

I'm tempted to buy 21 Jumpstreet and Silk Stalkings (a guilty pleasure from the 90's) but after buying all 6 seasons of Dawson's Creek last week (Circuit City $20 each) I need to watch my DVD spending tab!

Hey, IDrinkMolsens. Looks like DDD saw your posts. Columbo has magically vanished from the advertisement.

I had a couple Fright Packs in my cart at DVD planet, shipping was $1 (where it was free for other items). And I live in the same state as DVD Planet so it wasn't because of having to ship it a long way.

By the way, both DDD and DVD Planet are located in Ithaca, Illinois. Are they related?

They are sister sites. Actually, DVDPLANET was one of the 20% off coupon codes from the last DDD sale.

That's ITASCA, Illinois. It's near Addison, Roselle, etc. Wherever they hold that PGA Tour Championship - Medinah - it's right near there. I know cuz I got caught in stupid golf traffic going to that outlet store last week.

wow that was silly - i avoided that area like the plague last weekend. Weird building it is - the parent company is actually "infinity resources" and the "outlet store" is just a front in a warehouse. first time i went there it took me a while to find.
