Yes. They are the regular dvd cases in their keep cases... just placed inside the fright pack.

I'm still not seeing this on DDD's splash page. Wonder why. Again, thanks to the OP for the heads-up on this.

Not in all cases, but I have found (when combined with the coupons available in the digitaleyes thread) there are slightly better deals over at the sister site. Every dollar saved is a another bit toward the collection.

Happy deals,

B.

Why is the Werner Herzog Collection included in this sale, but not the Herzog/Kinski set?

Cardboard. It has a plastic handle at the top as well.

Because they don't carry the Herzog/Kinski set anymore.

For those of you who don’t remember DDD’s similar sale last year – prices, and selection, may very well change. If you see something that you know that you want, pick it up now.

Yeah, but DVDPlanet does, who is running the same sale. Has this box gone out of print and DVD PLanet still has a few copies or what?

I'm not sure. I picked it up last fall during the 20% off sale. This past June during the 20% off sale I looked for it to see if there had been a price drop (out of curiosity) and saw at that time that they didn't carry it anymore.

By the way, I just looked at DVD Planet's sale and there the prices are different than DDD's. It appeared that most were a dollar or two more expensive, but some were cheaper, like the Fright Pack series for $17.49 each (compared to $20.99 at DDD). So that would work out to twelve horror films for $17.49. That's cheap.

On the Fright Pack series, is each movie on it's on disk or do they combine movies on the disks?

Each movie is on a single DVD.

I don't think it's included at DVDPlanet though.

"It works for me."-Rick Hunter. I liked it. Basically, it's Fred Dryer doing a Dirty Harry impersonation. I'm sure that most people find it to be dated, but it brings back fond memories for me. At $9 per season, it's hard to go wrong. I believe the TV Land channel is currently airing this show, so you can try to catch an episode or two to see if it's to your liking before September 5.

If I were picking up the Werner Herzog collection ($41.99), I’d pair it up with the British War Collection ($53.99), a nice collection of five British war films. The price would be $53.99 for eleven movies.

The only other that I would personally get in that price range would be The Peter Sellers Collection at $35.99, a collection of six older Peter Sellers films. The price would be $41.99 for twelve movies.

I'm getting that Herzog collection with the Alec Guinness box.
I think it's better than the Sellers one you mentioned, Heat.

I found a friend who wants the Herzog set too. So for now I'm just ordering two of those.

Though I might still jump on British War, Sellers or Guinness.
