Does anyone have a customer service number for Spun.com? I've searched all over their website for one, and all I see is a place to leave messages that they say they'll answer within 48 hours.
To make a long story short, I had my cart filled with DVDs only to find out the code didn't work. So I emptied the cart without clicking "place order", yet they still charged my credit card even though there's no order listed on my account page.

This was a tough thread to follow. The discussion bounced from talking about The Wherehouse back in April to secondspun.com and then spun.com
(I had never heard of either place, but from the thread it sounds like they are all peas in the same pod.)
A 33% off code was mentioned, but it took reading many pages to find where it was buried in a couple places. Then once I found the code, people next said spun.com was cancelling some orders, but it still worked at wherehouse.com until I read that they charged sales tax and you couldn't cancel an order once it was placed (even well before it shipped). Wherehouse's web page doesn't mention cancelling orders, so that was another potential trap waiting only discovered by reading through this thread.
The deciding factor was when a couple people said that spun, secondspun, and wherehouse were all owned by TWEC which I'm boycotting due to an unforgivable experience with Coconuts. I knew Coconuts, FYE, and Strawberries were owned by TWEC, but I thought wherehouse was still independent. I guess not.
So I figured I'd rather pay 10% more and buy from a reputable place like Amazon or wait to see what B&M prices are than use any company owned by TWEC. Since TWEC has a spun.com and secondspun.com, is there a thirdspun and fourthspun as well?
I will now add secondspun.com, spun.com, and wherehouse.com to my list of boycotted TWEC-owned stores. I assume both the B&M and online stores for each of these is owned by TWEC?

Just to stop anyone from yelling at me if the used code isn't working til the 13th of Oct like I was told and like I posted...here's the e-mail that I sent and received to and from wherehouse.com that made me post my findings.
To Wherehouse.com:
Hi, I was wondering when this code was going to expire. I heard that it
would either expire on the 30th of Sept or the 13th of Oct. I would
like to know asap because the 30th is tomorrow and I may want to throw
another order in before it's over.
Thanks a lot.

From Wherehouse.com:
Hello Bryan,
Thanks for checking in with us.
Apparently there has been some confusion over this promotion, and I had
to check with the head office on it.
The 33% discount for new items ends today (9/30/05). However, the
discount is still good on used product until 10/13.
Please contact us again if we can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Moira

Anyone who placed an order with spun checked their accounts lately? A few days ago, I posted that I got an email from spun saying my order was shipped, but my trade-ins were showing as cancelled. Well, I just checked my account again. It looks like spun has decided to honor the 33% discount I used for the order I placed afterall--and now the status of the $30 worth of used dvds and cds I sold to them has changed from "cancelled" to "in progress." My total has changed to reflect the $30 credit. Thanks to all who emailed them and complained--maybe it gave them a change of heart.

Nope, all three of my spun.com orders are still cancelled. They were all for new items. Maybe yours was for a used item, and they're honoring the coupon for used items. Or maybe it's just a fluke. Who knows.

Yeah that Spun order I placed is still cancelled. It was pretty big and had a lot of new items though. I tried to find some stuff at Wherehouse before the sale ends but shipping and tax kills it.

My credit finally came through... They however did not take 2 of them! One I understand because the cover was printed from my PC... But the other was in brand new condition! I emailed and still no reply! This website is really making me mad! I am already having trouble with them not being able to cancel my order!

Yeah, I agree there are good deals. I splurged on some TV sets I've been wanting to pick up. Prices not even close to DDDVD (used though)
Dukes of Hazzard Season 1 & 2
Smallville Season 2 & 3
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 1 & 2
and a bunch of random movies that were cheap from my wishlist.

---Does anyone know if you can use the 33% code more than once?---
Apparently, from what I can gather, the code is still good until 10/13 for used purchases only?
I am awaiting some credit, so I just wanted to know if I should get my hopes up for it getting applied before 10/13.....
I already used it to pre-order the HITCHCOCK MASTERPIECE set and two used DVDs (order changed to 'Complete' as of 10/4 at midnight - two used DVDs shipped out seperately and arrived today, shrinkwrapped with easy-to-remove 'Used' stickers on cases).

Has anyone had issues w/ receiving their credit for DVD's you sold to Wherehouse.com? My USPS delivery confirmation says it was delivered Saturday morning, and as of Wednesday morning I still don't have my credit. (and Customer Service told me there is no one to even receive shipments at their warehouse on Sat morning... !!!)
If anyone used delivery confirmation, can you tell me what city/zip it states it was sent to? Mine says LONG BEACH 90802 (which is nearby), even though the address for Wherehouse is CARSON 90810.
I'm pretty worried that USPS has lost my shipment now =T
