They should as I have seen the Bundy one in a local BBV. You are talking about the ones with the two faces on them with a black background, right?

Shed 3 more DVDs today... Seabiscuit (enjoyed but probably won't watch), Raw Deal (cheap, didn't care for), and Insomnia (decent, blind buy). Couldn't decide on what to use with the credit. Maybe i'll just use it towards Mulan next week.

Anyone know if any Blockbuster stores in the Boston area are offering this deal? I went to three company owned stores in Cambridge today and all three told me they don't buy DVDs.

Finally stopped by a BBV in Renton, WA and traded in several. Got shot down on the cheap Victoria Principal DVDs from Wal-Mart as well as Showgirls. They took Underworld (non-se), Meggido Code 2, and best of all, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer which we got free from a Sears morning special (we grabbed many of them) so I'll be going back to trade more of those in over the next few days...

PS. got $8 back on each of the 3 items.

I took 37 in, got 3 back and $272 in credit! They wouldn't take Showgirls (NC-17), Roadtrip (Unrated) and Made wasn't in the system even when he typed it in...
My problem (more a disappointment) was that none of the local Blockbusters has the 3 new Monster Legacy DVD's! They can order them but it'd be between 2-6 weeks...I wanted them for Halloween ('tis the season) I gue sI'll go buy them at Best Buy tomorrow...I picked up Family Guy S3 for $39.99 & Aladdin Gift set for $44.99. I'll probably cave in and buy Star Wars...I mean i have 6 different VHS sets, bootleg untainted by CGI DVD's ...but George convinced me that he has me by the sack...I'm a sucker. I'll buy it now, and again when the Ultimate Super Special special Edition 6 movie 100 disc set comes out....blah...

Did you happen to ask them how much they would be if they ordered them for you? I notice that all 3 titles are available at blockbuster.com for $21.99/each, although they all show up as BACKORDER. You'd have to convert some of your credit to a Gift Card in order to use it online.

I just called 14 stores in the Naples, Ft. Myers and Miami FL areas with none accepting used DVDs. Anyone in SW FL find a store that is participating??

I talked to an assistant manager from one of my local BBV's and she said they weren't doing it yet - she had heard rumors about it, but that's it. All she knew was that her store and the store closest to my house were becoming Game Rush stores.

Okay this is slightly off topic, but it is related to BBV, this thread, and how we are using our credit.

A number of people have mentioned that 2 for $20 PPV sale. And while I was at my local BBV last night seeing if anything worth while had been traded in I read the 'fine print' of the promotion. The promotion is good for only individual titles marked previously viewed and are $19.99 or under. It specifically mentions that no boxsets are eligible for this promotion.

I know some have succeeded in getting the promotion and others have bitched about not being able to get the promotion, but if they read the fine print then some are getting something they really shouldnt be (computer error or just dumb service). I guess as always YMMV.

The 3 Monster Legacy titles are priced $40.99 each on the in-store computer. Go Figure!

Turned in 29 last night.

Only problems were

Ultimate Jordan (original release) -- not in their system
WWF: Summerslam 2000 -- not in their system
Animatrix (came from them originally but did not have a barcode on it -- never noticed that before)

Got hosed on trying the LT Vol2 and WW Season 3 preorders ($59.99ea) so I have an a$$load of credit and see nothing I want right now, oh well!!

Thanks for the info on this though!!

Greg

Oh BTW I traded in about 15 of the 2 episode Star Trek discs w/no hassle whatsoever.

I wonder if all Blockbusters corrected the error. Mine is paid in full from store credit. I have the receipt showing 29.99, so they can't change it later.

Someone posted in this thread earlier that Florida would be one of the last places to start taking trade-in's. I haven't found any store yet here in the West Palm Beach area. Hopefully they will start soon but I seriously doubt that it will be during the time of this promotion. But, if anyone finds any stores please let us Floridians know.

You might want to check out this thread on the deal at Gamestop for trade-in's:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...light=gamestop

I know this deal isn't as great as Blockbusters deal because you get to choose what movies you want but the deal from Gamestop for new releases isn't that bad. And supposedly all Gamestops are taking part in this deal so you shouldn't have trouble finding one in FL. I traded in 12 bad movies and picked up: Elf, Spiderman 2 WS, Harry Potter 3 WS, and Shrek 2 WS.

There's a store here that does $5 min per DVD, but can't find any that do $8 (pittsburgh area). Since the $8 promotion ends on 11/1, do you think it will ever come back or should I just take the $5 and be happy with it. I'd use it to pay for the unlimited rental program, so its not like I'd be wasting it on overpriced dvds, but if I could hold out and get $8 each eventually I'd rather do that.

I don't know how bad this is, but what I do if it doesn't have a barcode is...

I just walk into the store with my dvd's, go to where the DVD is placed for rent and switch the boxes, then go up and trade in the dvd.

$8 here in SoCal. Traded in 6 but tghey wouldn't take a cheapo Gamera DVD I had.

Clerk mentioned the deal is set to expire next Tuesday, 26th unless it's extended.

They also had deals going for game trade-ins, amounts vary but for 3 or more games traded in you get an extra $5 credited.

The Ojai, CA store has flyers, which clearly says it ends November 1st. I would think that all of SoCal would be the same, but you never know... (these are professional made flyers, not just something they printed up)

On Tuesday at the Land 'O Lakes, FL store, the clerk told me the promotion would run "only for another week," unless she hears otherwise.

One of the managers at that location told me they hadn't been informed of a cut off date.

The Blockbuster I traded stuff at originally will no longer accept stuff that doesn't immediately scan and they won't look it up because they were told not to now, even though I got away with it before.

I heard the same story at a Blockbuster in West LA this past Wednesday.
