scott1598: I'm looking on page 20 of my Bestbuy ad that just came in my Sunday paper. A yellow block located near the top of the picture of the boxset says this:

"Available Tuesday/Priced at $51.99"

Please check again and let me know if you see it.

Picked up the Sunday Sun-Tmes (Chicago) all prices are same. I guess I'm PM Fry's price at CC.

scott: I just called a Bestbuy store in my area (South Jersey) and (without telling them I saw the ad) asked them how much it will be on Tuesday. $51.99. Something is starting to stink here...

I called Circuit City, Best Buy, Target, Wal Mart and Sam's Club because they are all stupid and can't put their prices in the ads.

Best Buy - 51.99

Circuit City - 47.99?? Somewhere around there.

Target - 49.99

Wal Mart - 47.99

Sams Club - 46.99

These are what my stores told me in TN. I am sure they are around the same everywhere. It looks like I may have to get this online afterall. Unbelieveable...

One thing that is strange about the prices is that Wal-Mart's online site is $5.00 cheaper than in the store! Hopefully these prices will not be official.

That's weird... if you go through Best Buy's weekly ad on their website, you can pre-order for $42.99! (You do have to add it to your cart to see the price)

My Best Buy also said $51.99, but he said it may change, he didn't really know. When I asked if he thought it would stay at that, he said he didn't want to speculate further.

He already knows that

This is what , the 5th or 6th Trilogy release ? (counting VCD's) ...... and for some reason I own 3 of the different releases on VHS/(1)VCD sets .

Yes , when I purchased the VCD's I told my wife Quote :"Ahhh .... to heck with him ..... I'll have these and won't bother with the DVD's " .
Of course then the VCD's arrived and I saw how crappy they were compared to a DVD ...........

I flew to Denver for Celebration #1 , drove across the eastern coast to make it to Indy for Celebration #2 ..... I told my wife in no way will I go back to Indy for Celebration #3 ...............

We shall see if I go or not ....

Luca$ owns you ....... when your done with denial , the rest of us closet geeks will be waiting for you

so you scan the ad...where is the $51.99?? I don't see it and I am not blind. There isn't even a $51.99 price anywhere on that page, so what are you talking bout Willis? unless you doctored it for some very odd reason...asianx looks to have the non-doctored version that i have.

I'm not sure why there's such a controversy here. I see no reason why Star Wars would follow any different format then every other DVD we've seen advertised for the last 5 years. Outside of a price mistake, the "Low Price" is going to match the price listed next to it. 42.99. Says it in the Ad. Says it online. That's all there is to it

On the page you are quoted as seeing, the 51.99 is on the upper left corner of the trilogy box, but I agree, it does seem odd that his sheet and asianx's are different. However, my Best Buy is quoting $51.99 right now, so we'll see. I am correct in assuming BB doesn't price match their own website?

yea I see the little thing in one of the corners of the box that says "available tuesday/51.99". that is weird that the online and physical ad themselves differ.

also to answer the question for the above poster, no best buy won't pricematch their own website. but like circuit city I THINK they honor the price online if you order it online and pick it up in store. I'm sure someone can further explain that.

if all else fails and Best Buy is trying to pull a fast one. there's always pricematching the Fry's ad, or Comp USA ad.

you guys are both right. Best Buy has gone to regional pricing. If your Best Buy has it for $51.99 just PM to CompUSA or you could do an in-store pick up when it comes out on Tuesday and it'll be $42.99 from the website.

why would someone dr an ad? Have some common sense ppl.

$51.99 will be the price once it isn't on sale, the "normal" price.

$42.99 will be the price for this coming week.

That is what I think and what I've been told by every employee/manager that I've asked at my local Best Buy.

Just wait for Tuesday and Wal-Mart will beat all them especially if there is a Comp-Usa by them.

It says LOW PRICE in the Best Buy ad. The 42.99 is clearly for Star Wars Battlefront and that may be why some Best Buy employees believe it is that price. I ended up calling three Best Buys in my area and the official store price is 51.99.

I went ahead and ordered from www.outpost.com for 36.99 which is an amazing deal. Love that site.
