Based on the drawing,I’m assuming that DC doesn’t have the rights for Bill Dee’s likeness

New images from the Batman ‘89 comic. The Robin artwork looks odd.

The new Robin's name is actually Richard Drake? Ha.

I assume that's basically his pre-ward-of-Batman costume and he "graduates" to a more traditional costume? Because that's basically his mechanics uniform with a cape and some extra armor.

The first issue of Batman ‘89 came out yesterday. My friend picked me up a copy. Went with the below cover. Not sure when I’ll be able to get it from him.

It was OK. Not as good as I was expecting. It flips the Harvey/Batman story upside down. And Batman's eyes were comic book white, not open like in the movies. That bugged me.

That’s kinda weird they gave him white eyes since the cover shows him with regular eyes. Hopefully the story gets better in the remaining issues.

That would be a really huge comic book!! Much larger than any of those treasury editions they put out in the 1970's.

Seems like reviews I’m watching/reading are fairly positive. Hopefully just a couple here didn’t like it for whatever reason. I’m looking forward to getting my copy.

I guess this isn't officially a Batman '89 comic, but Danny Devito is going to be writing a Penguin story for the character's 80th anniversary:

I just ordered the Batman '89 hardcover book off of Amazon. I'm excited to finally get a chance to read it.
