I dont have a list but if youre in the Comixology app you you Browse a specific publisher there is a subsection of 'free comics' that is reliable/updated [at least on Android]. Its odd such a useful sort feature is not obvious on the web interface.

The iOS app is different. Can't filter like that and can't even purchase from the app either.

For Groo fans, there are TPBs and Single issues on sale for about 75% off.

BTW, how often do they run the Marvel B1G1 coupons? Got a lot of Epic Collections last time around and was wondering if I should wait for the B1G1 promo to come back.

These are now free with the dedicated sale in comixology.

Anyone use Chunky as the tablet reader? It’s been working great for years as my CBZ etc reader, but recently stopped loading anything new. I’ve searched the settings and see nothing about space limits. Plenty of space still on my iPad. I’ve tried a “rebuild database” or something setting and no help. Brief online searches aren’t helping. I’d hate to delete and re-install, lots still unread in it.

Old news but here is a link specifically to the DC (likely temporarily) free issues:

I'm the same way, but I had too since every other app that reads cbz gave me issues or made it hard to transfer files. Comic Zeal is one of the few apps I bought just because of the convenience.

I use Chunky, but I don't have that problem. I did like it enough to pay for it for the ubooquity and file sharing stuff. I think I also paid for comic zeal.

The Walking Dead Humble Bundle:

18 bucks for what I assume is everything.

I wish I knew then what I know now with digital pricing. It’s kinda sad that I had 25 or so of the collections at what I thought were great prices of maybe $4 each on average, but that it’s still cheaper to buy them all at $18 than to buy the few I need to complete the run.

Humble is kind of an anomaly, though. Still, I no longer buy individual books from Valiant, Kodansha, IDW and even Image because of them because the deals are so dirt cheap. Seriously, 18 bucks for what, 194 issues? Like 9c an issue?

Some new freebies in the Dynamite free page; and a big Image sale, every single issue 99 cents.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Picked up The Walking Dead. Wasn't that long ago that I looked into buying the Compendium books for 20 or 25 each.
Couple questions on comic reading:
- Is CBR/CBZ or PDF better? Last download was PDF and it looked like the CBZ was 10-20% of the file size. For TWD in general CBZ is still ~25% smaller than PDF, but not always.
- Best tool to read either one on a Kindle Fire HD? I've got PDF viewer and Moon+ Reader. I know PDF and CBZ generally won't have panel by panel like Comixology since that has to be specifically programmed in, but easy bookmarking (or even automatic) would be great.
- Any easy way to tell individual file size on Comixology comics? Mostly curiousity, but sometimes I'd like to download the "small" stuff while I'm reading a single issue, for example.

CBZ is better and like I mentioned before Comic Zeal is a great cbz file reader.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I’ve been worried about Dark Horse for a while now. Scott Allie was let go for some really weird behavior a few years back, and a lot of titles/licenses have gone to other publishers in recent years.

I remember when Dark Horse was a solid number three publisher behind the big 2. I think the Star Wars license helped a lot.

They lost Conan too, and TWD and Invincible ended. Hard to make up for that.

TWD and Invincible are Image.

Usagi Yojimbo went to IDW. I’m sure there are some others I’m forgetting.
