According to a friend of mine (not kidding) that works on Wonder Woman, Infinite Crisis is simply a reboot of the pre-crisis worlds idea that DC had for years. Things will be a bit different, but you WILL have more than one version of heroes and baddies showing up.

Uh... how "dark and gritty" is the DC universe, outside of the various bat books? If anything, IC seems to be making things darker and grittier...

I was under the impression that DC would go back to the Golden age of superhero storytelling. Hopefully not to the degree of playing baseball and laughing with little kids in wheelchairs.
I shouldn't have used the term dark and gritty. Maybe they will be less adult. More fun. Action. I don't know.

I think there needs to be a nice mixture. I like the dark and gritty more than the happy smiley stuff, but at the same time, there needs to be some light in those dark tales.

I think it was last month when someone was expelling the virtues of Don Rosa's "Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck". I would have NEVER bought this, but decided to give it a try because I always liked Ducktales...and damn if this isn't one of the finest comics I've ever read. I'm still in the beginning (up to the third story), but I'm spacing it out because its a fun, but dense read (lots of panels, lots of words, and the pictures are so gorgeous that I can't just skim them). So thanks to whomever it was who pointed this book out (I'm too lazy to go back and look).

I hate you boredsilly. You've made me realize that I too am a format whore. Who am I to turn away a HC now when I recently did the exact same thing for Hush, Runaways, and Invincible?

To be fair, the price tag doesn't bother me that much. There seems to be three markets as far as collected editions go. The trade paperback, the HC, and then the collectible/ultimate/special editions. The latter of those three can really be priced at whatever they want and I won't complain as long as the story is still offered in one or two of the first options. If this was the only way to buy the collected Walking Dead I would be pissed.
It's just the DVDTalker way to be a cheap bastard outside of buying HT equipment

I'm reading Essential Defenders right now and it has made me remember how much I love Sal Buscema. The man never got the credit he was due. He produced cosistently excellent work and never felt the need to be overly flashy. I miss this kind of comic.

All, I'm one step closer to pulling the plug on Bookshelf Comics. I recently took a promotion at work, and I no longer have the time or energy I need to do a quality job on the site. Anyway, do any of you have suggestions on what I can do? Should I simply pull the plug? Try to sell the domain? Should I leave the content up? If so, for how long...I don't want to pay for the space forever.
Anyway, any suggestions you have would be appreciated.
