Same here. I actually liked the movie pretty well, and $16 for a newly released 4K is a pretty good deal in my opinion.

I’m glad target’s search feature sucks so bad otherwise I’d find way more stuff to buy.

Most of what I would’ve wanted was sold out before the sale began, and it only got tougher once it started. I’m hopeful for Amazon to kick off their own version in the next couple of days.

Re: Target deals

This does end up being a good deal when you can find three Criterion titles they have in stock. Just ordered "Detour," "Grand Budapest Hotel" and the upcoming "War of the Worlds" for just under $57 (including sales tax). It's nice they include pre-orders, which Criterion themselves doesn't in their biannual 50% off sales.

I managed to work "War of the Worlds" into one of my deals. I would have included "The Grand Budapest Hotel", but, -to my frustration, -they only show the DVD version., -

I had several emails last night altering me that things I'd requested were back in stock again.

Too late as I'd already placed orders for things in those same price brackets, but it just goes to show you that the "notify me" trick does work at least half the time.

It hasn't happened this time, but the last time I got a few, -all on the last day of the sale.

They only showed you the DVD version because at the time they didn't have the Blu-ray in stock, and Target "hides" out-of-stock items in their search results. The "trick" I figured out is to use Google to search explicitly for whatever item you're looking for. Like "Grand Budapest Hotel Criterion Blu-ray," and then you'll see that Target does list it on their site, but it's out of stock. Then you can go to the listing on Target.com and set up an inventory alert where they'll send you email notification when the item is back in stock. This is exactly how I finally got "GBH," as it was OOS until yesterday. Hope this info makes sense! Haha!

Walmart's search behaves similarly.

Re: Target deals

There's an option when searching on Target's site to include out of stock items. I still find their search engine fairly terrible. It's 2020 and search engine tech, even at a tech giant like Amazon, is abysmal.

I used to think it was accidental but more and more I think it's by design. I guess they all take a cue from Google, whose search results get worse and worse each year.

Actually, that worked for me and six hours or so later. , -after the sale was over, -I got an e-mail that it was back in stock.

Re: Target deals

This is a really good deal, especially if you are into Target's exclusives. Frozen II 4K, Aladdin 4K and other exclusives can be had as cheap as they are likely to get.

Re: Target deals

My order already shipped.Going to do another order on my wifes account, and time to make a account for my teenage daughter.

The BOGO 50% Expires August 1st
the
Target's exclusives are only on sale until Tuesday. I paid $15 to $17.50 for a few of these exclusives back around the end of 2019.I'm a sucker for these exclusives ,just have to be careful not to buy something I do not need or want.
The extra 10/15% should show up on the individual movie pages,I never seen it ,but did not know were to look earlier.

Some decent deals on some Criterions
$23.49 each or under $25,should end up being around $17 to $18 each after discounts, not as good as the buy 2 get one free deal back a few months ago,but they added some new tittles. These all should have a MSRP of $39.95

Holiday (Blu-ray)
Dance, Girl, Dance
I Wanna Hold Your Hand (Blu-ray)

Show Boat (Blu-ray)
Smithereens (Blu-ray)
24 Frames (Blu-ray)

That’s kind of tempting. Never saw the second film though.

Re: Target deals

I might get
Total Recall (4K/UHD)(2020) if preorders are part of the sale.

And would pick up
Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection (Blu-ray)(2020) , but can not find two other items about the same price. any suggestions?

Also still waiting for a good price drop on Ford v Ferrari 4k.
Already seen it, so no rush to buy.
