Realizing you have 30-90 days depending on your Redcard Status and Holiday return period to return to old item if that happens - at Target, not Amazon attempt to match

Bird in the hand AND 2 in the bush simultaneously

Otherwise you could risk missing on both sides of the sale

Not to mention that Target pro-rates the "free" item's cost across all items reducing each by 1/3 of that item's price so if only *one* goes on sale, return that one but you still get current sale price on the other two.

Re: Target deals

The last time I returned one of the three items to the store, the CSR couldn't make it work, so I was given the current in-store price of the item (which was $5 and change less than I paid). I pointed this out and she got on the phone for about 15 minutes and I eventually had to have the remainder added to my CC separately via the "home office".

The Warner Archive titles i checked were all $17.99. With the buy two get one free they come to $12.00 each plus tax. However they seem to be sold out of a few titles I checked such as "The Thin Man" and "My Favorite Year". They don't allow orders of sold out titles. They don't come up when searching the Target website. I found they were sold out by doing a google search of the titles at Target. On the other hand sale is good on preorders so "The Bad and the Beautiful" is included in the sale.

Target has always been a bit odd with the Archives line. They seems to make one order batch and when that's gone, they stay gone. Many of the Summer/Sept releases were available early in the first of thse B2G1 sales, but sold out pretty early.
I'm not 100% sure Thin Man was ever available, but My Favorite Year, Set-Up. The Letter, Moonfleet, Wagon Master were for a week or so. I dawdled too long deciding if I wanted to wait until Nov/Dec and hope for similar prices or better from
Deep Discount sales like last years, maybe a 4/44, and the B&N 40% sale. I ended up making an order for 9 of the Sept/Oct items and later for 3 of the Nov. $1-2 difference now vs later seemed OK

Re: Target deals

I've made three orders of WA titles here since the sales started in late September. I was able to get The Letter, but missed out on most of the other earlier ones I'd been waiting on.
OTOH, having this work on pre-orders is really a whole lot better for me anyway. The more recent a release is, the less likely it will be available when the WB shop WA sale hits.

I'm paying $37.11 for every order of three WA titles here. That comes to $12.37 each (which includes tax). Prior to tax, which I'll be paying when I put in a WB shop sale order, the cost is 11.37.
Basically, I'm paying $.37 more per title than I would if I wait for the WA's own sale. That's cushion change.

It's a shame the selection isn't deep, but still more than worth it on the stuff that I can scoop up. I used to be happy getting new WA titles from B&N using coupons. IIRC, the deals there amounted to a little under $15 shipped per title. It's only been in the last year that I decided I didn't need most of this stuff immediately and became content to wait and make larger orders during the sales.

It's a pretty nice deal if you can catch the right items in stock at the same time.
In the past, I'd save most of the WAC until either a 4/44, a Deep Discount sale when many would drop to $11-12ea so the Target "3 for" pricing in right in the sweet zone (36.50 with Redcard and 7% tax)

Or better, a BN 40% sale when $22 titles drop to 13.20 via shiptohome order, then start adding discounts
11.22 with a 15% code, $10 for members. I spend more on WAC titles (and SONY MOD and Universal MOD) from B&N lately than Criterions
In the December sales often there are 20 and even 25% code to help and gravy using the 12-20% discount Gift Cards to drop the net to $8-9+ tax

I tend not to be able to wait 6 months between sales, so $12 is certainly acceptable and save the bigger coupons for the Boxset and TV sets for the 40% sale b/c those rarely go on sale anywhere less than $25-28.
Cloudy outlook for this Christmas sale -- for now nobody is sure if the 40% will happen, coupons will show up like in the past, and if all the prior rules will apply

I might getRoboCop (Blu-ray) SE $28

Yona of the Dawn: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) $26

this might drop down in price under $20 sooner or latter
And I'm still trying to find a 3rd item in this price range. any suggestions?
should cost about $20 each after discount

also I heard if you find a lower price, call Target CS and they are price matching B&N like on the Criterions. etc

I'll post my orders here:

Most of them look so good on BD there is barely any improvement in the 4Ks (especially the first two which were 2K DI). Even at B2G1 not worth it to me.

I am disappointed at how few movie titles are eligible. Did get some CDs though.

Yeah, I didn't have the first movie for some reason but decided since the last 2 films were 4K native, I'd like a complete 4K collection, with just a little bit more color gamut for the first 2 films, even if they were 2K DI.

Funny enough, I've gotten notices that three different items that were out of stock the last sale have come back in this week. None of them are eligible.

I picked them up as well but just Casino Royale, Skyfall & Spectre.

Target's site has them at $14.99 a piece (they ring up $19.99 in-store) but the site locks you out of the ability to do In-Store Pick-Up for them :(

Re: Target deals

If you have Target Circle, check your offers.

I noticed I had a 15% off Movies offer. Looking at other forums, it doesn't look like this offer is universal. Some folks have gotten it and some have not.

Worked perfectly on Bad Boys For Life (BD), even though it was a new release.

I was going to wait until BF as it will probably hit in the 10-15 range but being so close to release I felt like it was worth it.

That's how I felt as well. Had a great time seeing it in the theater and couldn't wait to re-visit it again.
