Re: Target deals

Quite a bit there I might be interested in. Furious 7, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation, Terminator: Genisys, Trainwreck (maybe). Also may be I interested in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies depending on if it's the theatrical or extended cut.

Re: Target deals

The pic of Rogue Nation is their exclusive as well. So maybe some of their other exclusives will be $10.

Re: Target deals

Preordered Rogue Nation Target exclusive for $20 and got a $5 gift card. I think I can still return this to buy it for $10 if they still have their Exclusive editions in-store. Knew Mission Impossible titles go down fairly quick. Just didn't think it would be this fast.

I thought movies and video games were only 30 day return policy now?

Correct. However, I believe they extended returns to January 24 for the holidays. You should be able to do the switcheroo on Sunday.

Re: Target deals

Looks like I missed out on The Martian deal with the gift card. I was thinking it was this week, not last week, bummer.

Re: Target deals

The Martian deal with the gift card was pre order only. You missed it by a couple weeks.

The exclusive is a different DPCI and supposedly will not be $10. A few of the exclusives will be $10, but not Rogue Nation, or Scorch Trials, or Trainwreck.

You could argue that it's on the front of the ad.

Went to my local Target and they had they had no copies of Rogue Nation exclusive anyway. Guess I'll just keep my copy since it looks way better than the non-exclusive version.

I hear the chance of doing a return and rebuy at the customer service desk is close to zero especially if it involves a $5 gift card as part of the deal.

I made the prediction a while ago that Interstellar will be $6 during the last Target Black Friday sale after they had Gravity in their Black Friday sale the year before. I'm hoping the trend continues for space sci-fi titles and The Martian will be in the next Black Friday sale for $6 for those of you who can wait.

Also, is it just me but in promoting The Martian, did they show way too much in the trailers and promotional scenes because they pretty much either gave away the ending or the ending was just too predictable? No spoilers please.

It's pretty simple actually. Just buy the one in store for $10, then go up to the counter and return it with your original receipt from the online purchase. I did the same thing with Jurassic World a couple months ago when they had it for $10 with the cartwheel. You just have to keep in mind that you will only get refunded for the purchase amount, which is why you get separate emails when they ship out the online orders. So you will have to decide if it's worth it for $5.

For me, it's only a $3 difference if you include the $5 gift card since I got 10% off my purchase. I guess I could live with paying $3 for the booklet the Target exclusive came with. If there were plenty of copies of the exclusive at my store, I would do like you described.

Re: Target deals

Picked up Trainwreck, Maze Runner: Scortch Trials, Minions (Target exclusive), Pitch Perfect 2, Spy, and Man from UNCLE. Had a $10 Target first date from the The Martian preorder. That plus the Redcard discount made it a very good haul for me.

Minions did ring up at $24.99, but I showed them a picture of the sale tag. They had nothing but that Target tagged exclusive copies, so that's what I went with.

Re: Target deals

Most of the titles listed for $10 on the Target ad are now $9.99 on Amazon and Best Buy.

Re: Target deals

I picked up Gotham. Does Target sell the non-exclusive packaging version? The exclusive is the only one they had and it rang up as $10.

Re: Target deals

Wound up only getting one title not even on my list. Picked up Gotham: The Complete First Season because $10 seemed like a good enough deal for me to give it a second try. The rest of the stuff I decided will probably go lower at some point and none of the titles were things I absolutely needed.

It must be one of those exclusives that share the same # in their system (like steelbooks) then. It is metal packaging. Maybe they do that with all types of metal packaging.

Re: Target deals

Well they did add some stuff to get an R rating over the PG-13 rating on the original release.

Re: Target deals

I ended up getting the exclusives of Minions, Terminator Genisys, and Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. I asked the cashier if the exclusives were supposed to be part of the sale and she said she would change the prices if not.

So then I ended up returning Mission Impossible with my online receipt just to remember that I ordered it when they were having that 20% off sale. So I saved a whopping $2
