Re: Target deals

Success! Got the last one, at a location I was sure wouldn't have it. Should've gone there first.

Re: Target deals

Had my brother pick up the last copy from the Target closest to him. So happy about that.

Was so happy at first that Target was already taking preorders for the new Star Wars movie but when I heard it is likely that no 3D bluray will be coming in the first release, the excitement was gone. Will wait till a 3D version comes out whether it's 3D bluray or 4K 3D.

You'll be waiting a long time for that considering there is currently no 4K 3D specs. But I'll see if there is an announcement for the 3D. But if they don't, I m not going to be sad by that. I'm just wondering how they'll have the IMAX scene presented on the blu's.

Re: Target deals

Anyone know if the price for the 3D version of The Walk is still good? I know it's a new week, and some prices might have changed. I just saw this post about it. I tried looking at the website but couldn't even find a listing for the 3D version.

Also, a side question for everyone. Does the Target website handle in-store inventory like Best Buy? When numbers reach below a threshold, does it automatically say out of stock even if there might be a couple left?

Re: Target deals

Sale price for The Walk ended Saturday. Sunday price went up to $24.99 which is the price now. That's what is was when I was in the store yesterday when I scanned it.

That's what I figured, but I figured I would check anyway. At least this saves me a trip. Thanks!

Re: Target deals

For those that pre-ordered the Martian 3D for $27.99, you can call them to get the $3 adjustment as it is in their ad for $24.99. Keep in mind they will not give back the tax you paid. They may, as they stated to me, tell you that you don't qualify if you pre ordered prior to 14 days ago. I had to mention to them that it was released today.

I received an email yesterday saying they were refunding me the money automatically.

Re: Target deals

I walked into the store yesterday to look at The Martian. The posted price for the 2D Blu was 22.99 but I scanned it and it scanned at 15.00. I picked up a copy.

Re: Target deals

I got a huge adjustment on The Martian pre-order- came out to about $18 even WITHOUT the $10 giftcard, so my net cost will be about $8. Almost makes up for all the 3D titles they overpriced or didn't carry at all.

Keep in mind there are 2 charges. 1 for the Blu-ray. And 1 for the $10 Gift Card. You have to add the 2 together for your total.

Re: Target deals Ridley Scott's "The Martian"

I got a surprise at my Target ( in NC ) yesterday. Ridley Scott's "The Martian" ( 1-disc blu-ray non-3D) was on the shelves with $19.99 price tags, but when I checked out, it rang up as $15.00. I didn't complain.

Will wait for Martian 3D to drop to $16.99 or less. Might have to wait till next Black Friday but I can wait.

If we're lucky, it might go down to $12.99 like a bunch of 3D titles went down to on Black Friday. You're right. $16.99 is not nearly low enough but I paid that much for "The Walk" because I couldn't wait. But it's funny how Target has been putting space sci-fi titles on sale during Black Friday. Two years ago, it was "Gravity". Last year, it was "Interstellar". If it follows the trend, I'm thinking "The Martian" may be the next one although it's likely only the 2D version will be on sale.

2-D BD of The Martian is ringing up $15 in-store. Also on Target's site for the same price.

It's $15 on Amazon, as well.

Re: Target deals

What a weird glitch(?), considering the tags that Target put out all said a higher price. Did Amazon match, or were they matching someone else?

It was an intentional pricing mistake meant to go viral. Target has played these games before with new media releases. Remember that Target has to honor their MAP (minimum advertised price) deal with the studio to secure the advertising revenue, but they are aware that in a world connected by social media, the "mistake" would get out very quickly.

Re: Target deals

$10 is a really good deal for Gotham season 1 if you haven't seen it and don't have access to it via Netflix.

I've already seen it and it's still very fresh in my mind, so I'm passing on it. I like the series, but don't love it enough to own it.

The big thing I see from that list is Fantastic Four already hitting $10.
