I know this is not a music thread but will there be a discount for Pearl Jams latest album Lightning Bolt or a thread on CD bargains?

Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
The Island of Lost Souls CC lightning deal disappeared.
Amazon's price matching engine has started up though... |
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
Right Now Pacific Rim is $9.99 and I wonder will the price revert back to $9.99 after 10:20pm Thurs or go back up to $24.99?
|
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
We know it'll drop further to $6 because of the lightning deal. After that....

Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
I pulled the trigger on both PR and ZDT at $7.99.. I'll probably be around for both the PR and ZDT lightning deals later this evening. If so, I'll buy both and then cancel this initial order. But in the off chance I forget the LDs, I still have both movies at a discounted rate. I just lose $4.
No pressure. I can live with that. |
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
How do people take advantage of these lightning deals when they are scattered throughout the day? If you want several different lightning deals, how can you combine them to get to the free shipping minimum? Otherwise, it seems kind of dumb to pay shipping for each individual lightning deal
|
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
You can't.. You only have 15 minutes to complete the LD purchase.
These instances are why one should purchase Prime. |

I buy things from several categories and always have over 1,000 books, video games, etc. in my various wish lists, so I can always make $35 minimum shipping if I need to. |

Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
Dang! I got up early for nothing. I could swear that, at least twice yesterday, I saw the Island of Lost Souls Blu listed as a LD for 7:20 am.
Did anyone else see it listed, or did I just imagine it... or misinterpret something? Has Amazon ever listed something as an LD, then pulled it? I could see it happening, but never actually noticed if it did. |

Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
BTW, and sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but can anyone tell me how Amazon Pre-Orders work? There's two John Wayne titles that won't be released until March and the pre-order prices are good. I'm also looking at The Wolverine 3D.
In all the time I've ordered from Amazon, I've never pre-ordered anything. Are the currently listed pre-order prices the most you'll pay... even if the price goes up before release? In other words, a price lock in. One would assume so, as I can't see the point of pre-ordering if not. However, their pre-order FAQ doesn't explicitly state this in plain english. Also, do they charge our CC as soon as you place the order, or do they wait until it's released? Again, the FAQ isn't explicit about this, although I will admit I could have simply missed it. I'm not keen on having my card charged now for something I won't see for months. |
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
I saw Island of Lost Souls as a lightning deal as well. Already have it though. Strange.

If the price of the item goes lower then you will also get the lowest price. |
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
It was there on gold box calendar, but I never noticed the time.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
So Django is the first bluray deal that is pretty much sold out 15 minutes into the deal. Nice.
|
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
Django was $7.99????
|
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
On an LD, yes. It went REAL fast.
|
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
Great. I was hoping to get it for less than $10 and didn't even know it was an LD. If I didn't manage to get Battlefield 4 Deluxe for $25 from Origin a while ago, this would be a total washout of a day for me shopping wise.
OMFG!!! I missed $6 Warm Bodies BD, too?!?!? DAMMIT!!! I am epically failing at shopping today! |
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
You can still get it for $9.99.

I know that everyone isn't going to camp in front of their internet device 24/7, but c'mon with the sob stories about stuff that was not only scheduled by Amazon, but listed and discussed on this thread. |

Regarding these lightning deals, I've only seen one that I'd really like to buy (Pacific Rim for $6, which price-matches Target's BF price on it for a whole 15 minutes) but it's not up till about 1:30am EST and I'm not staying up that late to save $1.99. Other than that, these lightning deals have been kind of lame as far as I'm concerned. I just went ahead and bought what BF BDs I wanted, not waiting until 1:30am to save $1.99... |
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
Didn't really want any of the LD stuff, but found some low prices for stuff I've been waiting for all year: Life of Pi 3D for $18, and Cloud Atlas for $13. I think that's the lowest I've seen them so far. They'll probably be lower next year, but I wanted them for this holiday season.

Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
Yes or no on will this work? If I have 2 separate windows open will I be able to click on 2 lightning deals? I just don't want to run the risk of clicking on one and then getting back to the deals page to see the other already claimed. Any experience with this, thx. And assume that once I refresh my cart in one of the pages that both items will then be there of course.
|
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
That should work, though most of the LDs haven't been instant sell outs. Then again, I don't know what stuff you're looking to buy.
|
Re: Amazon Countdown to BF Week - Lightning Deals Calendar
Im at work so I thought I lucked out and bought everything I needed now. Are you guys saying all this will be cheaper when the time comes up? lol i thought it was an error, so ordered now. And as a side note, anyone plan on getting the Kindle Fire from Staples? Its the only BF item I want. Think Amazon will pm?
