Why does Amazon sometimes do that?

It's usually when Amazon's stock is on backorder--they default to someone who will ship faster, even though the price may be much higher. Not positive that's what was going on here since I'm seeing the Amazon default today, but that's generally been the pattern.

Of course, so I will order from Best Buy.com (through ShopDiscover to get 5% cash back) and then pick it up in store when I go pick up my similar Lowe's online purchase (since they are next to each other where I am) and get it the same price (now that Amazon charges sales tax like Best Buy) but with more (that is some) cash back.

Waiting for the Mad Max trilogy to hit 15 bucks.

The Rocky Heavyweight collection is the Deal of the Day at $22.99.

I got it for $19.50 a couple weeks back during the FoxConnect 50% off sale, but this is still a decent price.

No one that comes these forums on any regular schedule should have missed the Foxconnect deal. It was in at least 2 separate sales for this price and will again. Unless you have to watch it now, I say ... run away.

Will that 5% really cover the gas to get there? [In my case, I am disinclined to drive the 190 miles to get to the Best Buy (and Lowes) store nearest to my house. YMMV!]

Those who want Gravity and are willing to be patient will likely see it for less than $19.99 by the end of the year.

The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl $6.45

Rambo: Two Pack (First Blood II / Rambo III) $6.96

Elektra (Director's Cut) $7.38

Varsity Blues $7.88

Arlington Road $7.98

Clue $7.99
Harry Potter Double Feature: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone / Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets $7.99

Scalene $8.50

Helen $8.55

A Beautiful Mind / Cinderella Man Double Feature $9.12

Wing Commander $9.17

Big Fat Liar (Blu-ray + Digital HD with UltraViolet) $9.96

8-Film Action Collection (Pre-order) $9.98

For those who care about it, the version mentioned upthread was the more expensive 3D one. 3D releases often get down to $15 fairly quickly.

I was expecting that comment, which is why I mentioned I was ALREADY going to the Lowes next door, so the gas was going to be used regardless.

Gravity itself, probably, but I'm not so sure about Gravity 3D, so I went ahead and got it now.

Scalene is an interesting one-time watch, featuring a great turn by Margo Martindale.

Price shows up as $13, but add it to your cart and the price shows up at $26.49.
It is now $15.79.

Same thing with "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire". Blu-Ray.com says it's on sale for $13.00. You click on buy now and it takes you to Amazon. But it's $27.99. WTF!?

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Yeah, I think Frozen thawed out about 30 minutes after I posted that deal, if not less. I think someone got them to match the Target price (it's $13 on their website right now), but Amazon pulled back.

Planet Earth Special Edition $31.99, lowest it has ever been.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...uct_refresh_T1

And this one doesn't drop often, the last time this dropped under $40 was last August. I've been waiting for a price drop. The series is about 9 hours with about 7 hours of extras, not including the commentaries.

MGM Best Of's, three of them $39.99 each (9 films each):
