I don't know why this get shitty reviews. I really like this movie.
1. The horrible miscasting of Geena Davis. Plenty of lessons can be learned from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and #1 on that list is that directors should never cast their girlfriends in leading roles for their movies. 1. The general bias that film critics have against any "troubled" movie in which the cast and crew don't get along and the whole thing goes wildly over-budget. You'd think that movies like Ishtar and Waterworld were unwatchable disasters based on what the critics were saying about them at the time, before they had even seen the damn things, but they're actually halfway decent flicks. Anyway, I just ordered a copy of the Blu-ray. On eBay, not Amazon, since I managed to find a new copy for $3 with $3 shipping. It's $1 more expensive than Amazon, but I won't need to add another $30 worth of shit to my cart in order to get the free shipping. :lol: |

No idea why Cutthroat Island failed.... it's a decent movie. Nothing crazy awesome, but still a fun movie.
