Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Both of the two I've received (Cat People and Shocker) have had slip covers. I normally don't care about slip covers as I tend to throw them away generally but I keep the Scream ones because of the new art and then usually will flip the artwork on the case to the original artwork.

I do the same thing with the cover art. One of the reasons I appreciate these releases by Scream. Studios that include slipcovers should do this more often. It's not hard to have different graphics for each part fo the packaging.

^I tend to toss the slipcovers that match the case artwork. If they are different Like Scream's titles, I do the same that you other guys have mentioned. Keep the slip and flip the art on the case. That's really the only cool thing about slipcovers in general as most are just useless.

2 out of 6 SF titles so far. At this rate, I will get about one a week.

Anyway, I ordered 5 discs. None of them have an estimated shipping date.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Are you sure they were not involved? Seems like maybe this is the beginning of a new norm similar to the sales we see on Criterion and other labels a few times a year. Only bummer was so many are no longer in their first print run and no longer have slip covers.

I'd be surprised if they weren't involved. Incidentally, I'm pretty sure this is the second time Amazon has marked down Shout titles for a limited time (first was last year, I think, maybe earlier?), and I'm confident that this too will become something of an annual occurrence based on the popular response. Even Amazon Canada has had at least two prior deals on certain Shout titles in the set couple of years, so it's definitely becoming more common. I don't doubt lots of less-informed people still pay the going rate for these discs, which is reason enough for the companies not to consider lowering their "regular" pricing, I suppose. A blow-out here and there is certainly wise because it has the potential to bring new fans into the fold and build brand awareness, so for that I'm grateful. Now if only Kino would repeat that excellent Amazon sale they had last year -- which they openly promoted on their own site and via email blasts -- because I'd grab about 25 titles released since then!

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
But once people know about the sales -- and in this case word clearly got around because titles went out of stock very fast -- they're a lot less likely to spend that $30 except in cases of limited runs. I'd especially love to see the sales figures for Criterion and Twilight Time, too, now that they've conditioned their fan bases to expect sales once or twice a year. I'd bet good money that both of them now make the larger chunk of their revenue from their sales. Once they started the ball rolling, well . . .

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Whatever works, of course! With the exception of Army of Darkness -- and really, even that had a VERY reasonable pre-order price of $17.99 as I recall -- I'm hard pressed to think of a Shout title that I didn't get in a sale (even those early Corman SE's), either via Amazon deals, or in Shout's own sales (where the prices for certain items are still pretty decent if you can wrangle free shipping or some 'bonus' discount). In cases of their truly limited editions I suppose we don't often have the luxury of waiting for a sale, although I did luck out last year on a good one that they snuck in under the radar when they offered some "magically found in the warehouse" copies of the already OOP Nightbreed box in one of their '...of Fear' sales. Beyond that, I guess they're no different than any other company in that everything goes on sale eventually. It's just a matter of patience. With mountains of unwatched discs here already, I don't mind waiting it out. The interest will always be there.

Did some checking--looks like Target's $5 section might be on sale this week for $3.99 and Amazon is beginning to PM some of them.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
That Shout Factory order is just bullshit. I have Prime, and it's been 10 days since I placed the order and it's still not even processed. Yet when I go to each individual title, it's available via Prime within a few days? This is making no sense.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I received all 4 of my Scream titles very quickly, but they were all in stock when I ordered them. I suspect they really have no stock for those that were back ordered and are taking their time to replenish.

This is such a good deal I think it just might be a mistake. According to Blu-Ray.com: "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition" is $7.82.

I'm tempted, but I'll probably wait for a deal on the extended trilogy.
