Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
^It's been my experience that if it was purchased from a MP seller and "Fulfilled by Amazon" all they'll do is a return/refund. To get a replacement you'd have to order it again. BUT if it was *sold* by Amazon they'll do a replacement, usually sending it out before you return the defective unit.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Thanks. Yup, I'm sending it back. It was definitely supposed to be new product, but honestly it looked like someone sat on it and kicked it around.
I opted to have the amount credited back to my Amazon account instead. Once I dropped it off at UPS, I received the credit e-mail right away. |

"Chuck" the complete series $39.99.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Awesome--I've been waiting for that to drop in price. Thanks for the heads-up!

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Loved Chuck when it aired, I had to purchase it. I wish it had UV though.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I have the single seasons (except for one on DVD, which is annoying but someone gave it to me), and they have episode select. I don't have the complete set but I'd have thought they'd use the same discs.
Bummer about UV. :( |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
As memory serves, the episode select is annoying as it defaults to the first episode on the disc and then you have go back to episode menu to select the episode you want.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
High Noon is back to $16.99. Had to scoop it up. Everyone is saying it's a reference disc.

Someone here said before to choose the Prime Pantry once and then the digital credit will start showing up again. It worked for me and I haven't seen it again since and it's been at least a couple months now.
|
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Glad it worked
I think it's their way to try and push Prime Pantry. I think it's only a one time credit, then they have nothing else to offer than the digital credits again. |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I'm in the opposite camp right now, wishing I had a pantry credit. Lots of ~ $1 items in the free shipping section, so with a pantry credit you can get stuff for nearly free.
|
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I don't choose the pantry credit when it comes up. In fact, I avoided buying something recently when I noticed it was an option. Bought a cheap book today. The $1 digital credit had returned.
I bring this up to say I'm not sure there really is a pattern to it. |

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Trevor's not the only one. I, too, redeem them using the "Buy 5 selected get free shipping" offer to take an additional $6 off the total. The last time I got them I used 3 or 4 that way and had $5.99 totals for each order (that's the lowest total I was able to obtain this time - a few months back I got several orders almost free after applying the credits). Got some good deals that way, but I'd still rather have the digital credits.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Can some one you advise what you use the pantry credit for? I think the discussion still works within the "bargain" realm of this thread. I just have no idea what to use it for or how it would benefit me.

I think the slow shipping credits for pantry were introduced as a way to cover the shipping and introduce people to that service. But they already promotions in that department where shipping is free if you buy 5 or more items from a select list of several hundred items. The items are broken down by category, and just like a grocery store prices vary from less than $1 and up. I usually end up buying things like rice side dishes and packs of gum that are around $1 each, and end up getting it all for close to free. Or sometimes they even have decent prices on a wide range of food and household products. Many items have coupons too. Some months, we buy more groceries from Amazon than DVDs. |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
^Yeah, I purchase groceries/snacks as well. But after a few poorly boxed items I now limit what we purchase. Canned goods have arrived severely dented, chips arrive looking like they were used for basketball practice (even when there was nothing in the box but chips), chips were used as padding for 12 packs of soda(!?!? - yeah... got a reshipment on those). I now mostly purchase "boxed" items which have less of a chance of shipment damage.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Guys, let's get back to bargains and move the pantry/digital credits over to another thread or something.
