Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

Let's see... The inconvenience of...
1) Getting our hopes up that we'll get this, then inevitably canceling our orders.
2) Stringing us along, making us extend our order by a certain date otherwise they'll cancel it (I've NEVER had to do that with Amazon before. That's the B&N way of doing things).
3) In some cases, perhaps people passed on other Chunking Express deals not as good, hoping this one will come through.
4) In my case, tying up my gift card and promo credit, which I could have used on other orders which I placed since then. And then, to make matters worse, I canceled my order yesterday, and didn't get my promo credit back, so I had to contact them. That took an extra 20-30 minutes.

Also, don't forget the "2 minutes" keeps expanding. There was the initial order, then the "click to agree to extend the order." And then how many times have you checked your order status since then? You should also factor in this site and others where the deal was posted, and discussed! That's a lot of wasted time there! Every post we make about this "deal" is more time wasted. I'm not saying a lot of time was or will be spent, but it will keep growing, way beyond the initial order.

But the biggest crime of all, IMO, is that they made an item available to order THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE! They clearly made a mistake. Nobody is getting this, but they haven't admitted it yet. They should just come clean and tell us it was a mistake, and they don't have them.

So yes, when factoring all of this in, it was an inconvenience.

I concur. That ain't right, and I'm starting to get ticked about it.

I think in my case, the credit may have expired by now (it was the $5 appstore credit), so when I canceled the order, I didn't get the credit back. They did reinstate it after contacting them...

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Ended up picking up the American Ninja collection that I mentioned earlier.

I had a little over $4 in rewards on one of my credit cards and got it for around $27 and change after tax with free shipping.

Now I can finally dump my Fool screen DVDs from American Ninja 1-4.

It depends on what you order, but I've had to do this numerous times over the years. It's often with a long pre-order like Game of Thrones, but it also happens with out-of-stock items. I think there are laws that require regular updates rather than just leaving an order in limbo for months on end. So this wasn't invented recently, or for Chunking Express.

How many better deals are out there? Isn't that why we took a shot at this one?

Pretty sure it's not Amazon's fault that you used your card and promo here.

I haven't checked my order at all, other than when I needed to confirm that I still wanted it. But if you're saying that hanging out at this site is a waste of time, yeah, you're probably right.

I guess I just don't see the need to get all offended over something that we knew was a longshot in the first place.

That's the world we live in nowadays. Everybody feels entitled, and wants everything for free.

Yeah I pre-ordered it months ago when it was $14.99. Glad it dropped some more.

For those unaware, this includes both the theatrical and extended cut and includes a new making of documentary. I wonder if FOX will include movie cash to see the sequel or if that will be a B&M thing.

I'm finally upgrading my FOX 5-star 2-disc DVD that I've had for years. But, I'm going to hang on to it in case some of the extras don't get ported over.

Deep Discount listed "Movie Cash" on their copy. Supposedly, everything from the DVD set will be ported over.

There will no doubt be a copies of ID4 available somewhere with movie cash for the sequel. Probably for the same $9.99 ballpark. And it will be mine. I've been holding off upgrading this one until is was a worthy upgrade.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

FYI
The new Independence Day blu-ray from Amazon does not have movie cash for the sequel. Just got it in the mail today.

Had a feeling the movie cash was a B&M thing. No big deal, I'm still going to see the sequel anyways. Plus I paid for part of it on Amazon with a GC.

If you had stopped at "no big deal" it would have been fine. But, that you're going to see the sequel only makes it worse. And the gift card will work on a whole universe of potential purchases, so it really works out the same as a gift of cash - so you're just rationalizing away ...

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Heh- I am chiming in..ordered through Amazon-got $1 movie credit for slow shipping
and saved another $3 in gas and half hour minimum of time going to Brick and Mortar-lets assume for argument minimum wage of $10 an hour that is $5 saved so almost free and if you make more then that one could say they earned money by purchasing at Amazon-so don't feel bad on the movie cash.
Of course driving a leased car at 22 cents a mile equals another $2.50. Then you have to figure the health benefits of not driving in traffic and dealing with all the exhaust fumes. Then what if you got a traffic ticket driving? Now who is ahead? What if the Brick and Mortar did not have ID4 and you had to drive to another? Wow this could get expensive vs a few clicks at Amazon?

What if my finger snaps in half as I'm clicking through checkout on Amazon and then as I'm trying to set my finger I slip and crack my head open on the table and my wife has to call an ambulance but I'm too faint to tell her we no longer have health insurance because I lost my job after my boss caught me having sex with a co-worker in the bathroom so now I owe the hospital thousands of dollars I can't pay back my wife left me I only have nine fingers and short term memory loss and my dog shit on the carpet.

It would've been a better story if you'd been fired for surfing Amazon during your work hours.

"Trailer Trauma", -yet another trailer compilation on Blu-Ray (though it prides itself on not repeating what has been on the 42nd Street discs and other collections) dropped from 24.95 to 15.86 or thereabouts. This is from a small specialty company and I'm not counting on the low price holding for long.

Yep. I caught this on camelcamelcamel this morning and meant to post it. I bought a copy right away.

Appears there is a Trailer Trauma volume 2 on BD as well. Anyone seen or know much about it?

Awesome - thanks! I've been meaning to pick this up. I read that it might be a limited release as well.

I was going to pick this up last weekend, but unfortunately had to miss out on the Ex-Fest put on by Exhumed Films (they guys behind Garagehouse Pictures). They show a lot of the trailers at their shows over the years, so I imagine it will be more of the same. I can't speak to the second one since I haven't seen it yet, but the first disc is well worth the discounted price if you are into those sorts of trailers.
