Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
It's down to $53.99 at Amazon. I ordered a copy just in case as that's a great price if it turns out to be all 23, or 24 as some speculate, films. Amazon thinks that's 10% off the regular price ($60) so the price'll likely drop again.
Right now the UPC, 883904346807, doesn't return any real hits. Just one from Barnes and Noble, which indicates it includes Spectre, that's a bad link (apparently they've taken it down but it's in Google's cache). Google's cached version of their page shows a price of $44.29.

Current list price for the most recent collection is, what, $200? Seems more likely that this is a Craig collection, but yeah, no harm in pre-ordering in case it's a pricing error. Worst-case scenario is they cancel the pre-order or you buy it by accident.

blu-ray.com reports it being 23 Bonds (no Spectre)

I dunno. That seems weird. But possible if they crammed two movies on one BD-50 (or do an Echo Bridge thing). If they release a 23-disc collection for under $60, that'll be impressive.

True Detective Season Two is now $39.99.
WAIT. My mistake. I thought they were giving you $39.99 to take it off their hands.
Methinks that would be a nice side bet with someone. How soon will this be a single digit price tag on this piece of garbage? Hard to say. HBO is notoriously slow in dropping their prices, so it could be a while, sitting in the warehouse.

Yeah, I'm not touching season 2 until it comes included in my cereal box. Even then, I'd want a coupon for a free future box of cereal.

HBO doesn't really put poor-selling items on clearance like some other labels.

Damn, here I am all set to pick up S2 tomorrow (with some trade in credit, almost nothing out of pocket) and it was just shit on again. Is it REALLY that bad?
Maybe I need to fire up a free trial of HBO Go and sample a few episodes at this point...

It's not the same level as season 1 - but....I didn't hate it the way everyone is poo-pooing it. If this was the first season, I don't think it would have gotten the stink everyone is making it out to be. The first season set the bar pretty high, so this second one had to be really great to match it, and it wasn't. Also, the different directors gave it a more convoluted feel to it, and the story was already all over the place. But, overall, I think it's worth a watch. I'll pick it up when it's under $20.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Season 2 is much more of a straight ahead cops vs bad guys story and I think it threw people for a loop. I thought it was great, with a top notch cast and a solid story with enough twists and turns to keep it ahead of standard TV fair.

I would say watch the first episode and if you like it then go for it. If you don't then don't bother b/c it's not getting any better.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
S3 was a good one, much better than S2 in my opinion, and $14.99 is a steal. For S4, I'm waiting for a price drop (currently at 10%, which is their way of acknowledging that they know it exists but don't care about it) before I pre-order. And yes, I could just do it now and count on the pre-order guarantee, but they could trick me and never drop the price below 10% off. It's a great series so I wouldn't be too bent out of shape about it, but I'd rather be safe and wait for a 25-30% reduction.

They're matching Best Buy's sale. I'm not sure if they've matched all of them, but here's the list at BB sorted by release date for an idea of what to look for. The most recent release included is Kwaidan.
