Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule

Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Would be nice if they could list the Saturday/Sunday lighting deals - wants to plan ahead on when I need to be near the computer.

How are those Marvel Of Agents Season Two Sets deals? Half the price would be a deal.
LOL Dark Angel - Season 1/2 Set - $34.95? Should be $9.99-$14.99.
Kingsman: The Secret Service (DVD) - $7.96 - all claimed in two minutes.
Sigh seeing the NYPD Blue set only have the first four seasons - thats one that should have been complete.

Agents of Shield Season 2 blu ray $39.99 lightning deal. Not much of a deal since I bought the first season for $24.99.

So if you have an item for a lightning deal in your cart, will it auto update to the price, or do you have to add it again when the time arises?

Passed on Agents of Shield @ $40. Only 48% claimed as of this writing. Looks like Non Prime people have a shot at this.

Yes. As a non-Prime member, I'm actually glad it ended up at this price. While not an excellent deal, If it had been sub-$30 there is no way I would have had a shot at it. I view it as getting it now to watch for what it probably will go for within 6 months when no longer an exclusive and competition comes into play.

Especially considering I have not seen the show before and just picked up season 1 for around $25 a short time back. Looking forward to watching it in the next month.

It will be another quick hitter. Five seconds. Using a different device; will try to claim one, though I'll release it.

Glad to be up in the stands watching that one - I'll be eating some popcorn cheering you all on! LOL! (Got it online at Best Buy early Thursday morning.)

I'll be up though in 10 minutes later for Walking Dead-Season 5 on DVD.

25th Anniversary Akira is $9.99, and House of Cards 1-3 are $10ea (matching Target, I think).

Where did you see House of Cards for $10 each? Not seeing that anywhere.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Reading a lot of lightning deal commentary around the web and can't help but feel bad for these folks and their complete lack of knowledge of how they work. All this "I had it in my cart before the deal started, but the price never changed" and "I clicked on the button in the first 30 seconds" makes me just shake my head.

I'd write a tutorial, but honestly, my (and others') success with LDs is in part to many not knowing how they work or how to be successful in scoring them. For those that don't understand or have success with them, remember the keyword in all of this is LIGHTNING. It means fast, as in the slower you react, the less of a chance you have to get it.

Good luck the rest of the way.

Outlander is $10 at target. Mad max is $8 at brstbuy or $9 at target

I'm tempted by Jurassic Park. I didn't get yesterday's deal, and didn't get the trilogy when it was cheap internationally. I'm just not sure how often I'm going to watch them, though. I've probably watched the first twice since getting the DVDs, one of those just before seeing the new one in theaters.

Say what you will, but I have had no luck with "lightning deals" for the past two years. However, in the years prior to that I got everything I wanted so I have a pretty good idea what is required. I have started calling these "deals" "lightning gambles" and get them elsewhere if remotely possible.

Since you're here, maybe I can help. I'm not patronizing you or anything, but I want to know what you're specifically doing.

Yeah, I never have something I want in my cart. Should be put in a list, then added to the cart once the LD goes live.

Also helps to know how you're going to pay, etc.

In fact, I even prep myself by practicing adding stuff to my cart, and checking out. I've had some experiences where my mouse wasn't working and just the little things where a 1 or 2 second delay might as well be a few hours in LD World.

Are you a Prime member? A lot of these deals seem to give early access to Prime members and if it is popular they would be all gone before the regular deal hits.

I just picked up X-Men: Days of Future Past and I had access two minutes before the deal hit the regular site. It was likely gone in a second or two. Unless Amazon adds copies for the regular lightning deal, something I doubt, they would be gone before the deal even started.

Just guessing, of course.
