Man, I wish that Spielberg set would go down about $20 more...$70 is too much for me, considering I own the four already-released movies...but at $50, I think it would justify it.

I think I'll bite on A Million Ways to Die in the West for $10.

Oops! Sorry Solid Snake - that is correct! I forgot I was reading the BR deals... the lowest BR price has been ~$18 so there's still hope (although the "Deals Calendar" this year is woefully lacking in information...).

Target had the Season 6 BR for $9.99 last January. There was a thread about it back then.

So far, I've been able to obtain the first six seasons for $10 ($9.99?) over several years of Black Friday and Christmas holiday sales. It looks like I'll be waiting another few years for Season 7, parts one and two at that price.

Mad Men The Final Season Part 1 is in the Target Black Friday Ad for $10. Maybe Amazon will price match it on Thursday or Friday.

Well, well. I'm planning (if I don't chicken out) to join a bicycle ride from Davis, CA to San Francisco on Friday. 128 miles through Yolo, Napa, Sonoma, and Marin Counties into the city. There may be Targets along the way, but I won't have time to shop. Let's hope Amazon matches that price!

Buying Mad Men on Black Friday was a great tradition, but when they stopped, I just bought the next one digitally and haven't even watched it.

I just read the Target ad. The sale starts at 1800 hours on Thanksgiving. What a miserable way to spend an evening. If I can walk in and walk out with the disc, great, but I don't think it's worth waiting in line and fighting the hordes of bargain shoppers.

Edit: As an afterthought, it is despicable that these retailers require their employees to work on Thanksgiving evening.

That seems like a fantastic deal. I still have my LOTR original extended set on DVD, but this might be a good enough incentive to upgrade. As for the game, is it any good for those who may have it?

I keep wanting to bite for the upgrade my EE to Blu Ray however I cannot get rid of that voice in the back of my head there will be some box set with all six movies and a considerable amount of previously unreleased deleted scenes as the carrot included.

Mad Men has went downhill anyways if you ask me. It seems like it lost its spark around season six or so. Which is a shame because the first five seasons are all pretty good but I just don't even really care that much anymore what happens.

There might, eventually. But, said set will be incredibly expensive, at least for the first few years. And six films will never be anywhere near cheap as this one is now.

If you can wait, go for it. But, if not, there wont be a better time to pull the trigger on this set.

Maybe, but two things..

1) I assume these retailers are paying premium pay for the holidays, whether its double OT time in lieu of regular work hours or something else more than the normal wage.

2) Target (and other retail store) employees have a choice in life. And one of them is choosing to work at these places that open on Holidays. Now, whether that's becuz the employees are young in age, made previous poor choices in life, love the brand, have been promised a job in management later on, or <insert your preferred situation>, its the best job many of those people can currently find. And regardless of whatever perceived unfavorable conditions exist, they can either suck it up and work with a smile.. or quit.

Two OTHER things:

1) If we, as consumers, didn't participate in the early shopping frenzy that Thanksgiving night has become, these retailers would have no reason to be open. We have only our collective greed to blame for this situation.

2) I've never had to work retail on an actual holiday, but I used to be in the radio/TV business, and there were MANY years that I worked every holiday that came around, and at regular wages as well. It wasn't the worst thing in the world. It was often an inconvenience, but families can adjust schedules to compensate, and in the case of the TV stations, we always had our own little Thanksgiving feast at work that day. I'm pretty sure that firefighters, policemen, nurses, and others who always work the holidays feel the same way and have their own celebrations at work.

One more note--my sister-in-law has to work retail tomorrow (and Friday), so we had Thanksgiving dinner last night. No big deal, and we get more time to eat leftovers until we ALL go back to work.

Rise of the Guardians 3D is now $9.99. Is this worth buying for real young kids, so that they can grow into watching it in a few years?

Now, the next question is if this is the best price or is there a doorbuster price this year that is significantly cheaper? Someone please advise.

I agree Rise of the Guardians is a good movie, when I was expecting garbage like the confusingly-similarly-titled owls movie.

I don't shop for 3D so don't have a good handle on what deals might be out there.

I see that BB will have ROTG (not 3D) for $7.99, though Amazon doesn't seem to sell that version. I'm pulling the trigger.

Thanks guys.
