Hey, look at that. Ace Ventura's now down to $7.99.

A bunch of the Warner triple features are down to 12.49: Departed/Goodfellas/Aviator, Training Day/John Q/Pelican Brief, Watchmen/V for Vendetta/Constantine, etc.

I'm holding off on those Ace Venturas, I'd imagine they will be included in a triple feature or four film favorite at some point.

Funny you should say that...I ended up getting my Aces from Amazon Germany, region free where it looks like an identical copy of the Deluxe DVD package (if you remember that one). It's very cheap (currently only 9 euros) and if you combine it with a couple of other titles, well worth IMHO.

Was that the one with a few TV episodes included?

Yup, and those episodes made it to Blu-Ray as well. The quality is meh when it comes to the TV episodes, but hey they are still there :)

Took them long enough. I'm still waiting for them to drop Ace Ventura 2 and Vegas Vacation, all released last year.

What is with Warner's pricing on catalog titles? Universal's average $10 AND come with an iTunes and UV Digital Copy.

Don't even get me started. I've been waiting a couple of years for Just Cause to come down from the $15 price tag. Sad part is I would probably pay $12. Oh well.

Lately it's best to wait for a WB catalog movie to make it into a triple pack and hope the others in the pack are somewhat desirable.

I FINALLY found a Best Buy that had both Ace Ventura movies in stock. I already ordered the first one from Amazon (if it ever ships). Can't wait to watch both of those again. It's been too long.

Might have to jump on that deal for The French Connection. Is the re-released Blu-ray better than the initial release? I know that one of them had some color timing tweaks done by Friedkin that a lot of people weren't fans of.

DaveyJoe 07-03-14 02:53 PM

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Yeah, they went back to the color timing and toned down the tweaks a bit. I think it's still a bit muted, but not as extreme as before.

After watching Primal Fear on Netflix, picked up Fight Club for $5.99 on Amazon.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Blu-ray $19.96. I had a CamelX3 alert for the lowest price of $19.99. Last time it reached $19.99 was early December.

I've been waiting for this to drop to atleast $15...I don't know if it's going to happen. I think I'm better off waiting for a box set of all 3 extended at this point.

Yeah but that's November of next year and $60 for all three is not a bad deal :)

I learned with LOTR. Haven't picked up the regular editions, been holding out for the SEs at a $20 price point.

Oh, I see why I missed those. Amazon is temporarily out-of-stock so the price shown on the product page is defaulted to an Amazon Market seller, instead of Amazon themselves.
