I started to buy 3D movies long before I got the TV. I most case it was only $3/5 more. Glad I did on those. Sad I did not on the ones I missed out on.

That was smart. I didn't because I hadn't seen a good 3D TV demo beforehand. It seems like most store's 3D demos were messed up (Sears and Fry's in particular... either blurry, flickering, or too dark). I can't remember if it was BB or somewhere else where I finally found one that looked OK. So I said I'd get a 3D TV when there was a sale which happened a while ago.

Since then I'm always willing to pay $5 more for a 3D version, but I'm really hard pressed upgrading 2D to 3D movies when the prices are so high. To me a 3D new release BD should be $20 and a 2D new release BD should be $15, but prices are typically $5 more. So it all depends on coupons and how much I like the movie. But I'm still pretty stingy at buying any new release movies because they're so expensive. I doubt I have much more than 20 3D BDs.

The Hustler and Patton for me

I was on the fence about Comancheros and An Affair to Remember, but I'll bite at $9.99, thanks.

Is the transfer on Patton better/different than the non-book Blu (which, IIRC, suffered from grain reduction)?

Tempting prices on the digibooks, but I already have Terminator, Patton, Rocky and Usual Suspects on BD in non-digibook form. Too bad the deals on the digibooks come so late as to be a moot point. Butch Cassidy, Tora Tora Tora, Affair to Remember, and Comancheros I already have on DVD. I'd like to have them on BD, but not at $9.99 each. Butch Cassidy is worth a $9.99 BD upgrade, but the stories about its bad transfer negate that. I wasn't that fond of the other 2 movies, so I'll wait for them to get cheaper.

I opened my Patton (not digibook) BD before I knew about the transfer issues. I should probably pop it in to see if it's as awful as so many people said. I remember watching the old Gladiator BD before I knew about its "problems". I thought the transfer was perfectly fine, and then sometime later read about the disc exchange program for the defective disc which I didn't notice was defective (so I didn't do the exchange). I was obviously blind or too involved in the movie to notice whatever the problem was.

Same transfer on both.

Tempted by the Fox books but cautious based on the reviews for Butch Cassidy and Usual Suspects. I think I have them all on DVD except The Comancheros and Tora3 (but I think Terminator is my only BD).

Still thinking about the Cruise collection, and I like the drop on Enchanted since that appears to be a combo and I don't have it on DVD, and it would be a great car film.

That's usually the way I do technology, but I guess I'm not convinced I'm going to have a 3D TV at all, much less soon.

Think I'll grab It Might Get Loud at $6.99.

I am totally down for blind buying The Asphyx at $12.99. I don't know why, but I am. Looks fun. Good review. Oh and I think I'll throw Vigilante in there too.

I'm mildly curious myself, but the universal mockery of Robert Stephens' acting has me wary. Typically, Netflix doesn't carry the Blu-ray.
