It's like any other Lightning Deals they do; the items go on sale at the time listed and they stay at that price until they are either sold out (which is usually the case during Black Friday week) or the time window expires. For the really good deals, especially on newer releases, you really have to get on it RIGHT when the sale begins, from my experience.

I have a feeling that this is going to suck my wallet dry next week, just like last year. I do find it amusing that the Muppet tin that will be $49 on Monday, currently sells for $149 on site. If you buy each item seperately the DVDs included retail for about $80. That means if you pay full price you'd be paying $70 for a tin, sticksheet, notepad, 2 pencils and a pencil sharpener.
Awesome prices on seasons sets of shows next week. I never imagined that a season set of any show would go for $7.99. I'm hoping Mad Men season 4 goes for $10 to match the awesome deal that I got for seasons 1, 2 and 3 last year.

Also worth mentioning is that Amazon randomly discounts hundreds of other movies, some of which are mentioned in other places, and others of which might mysteriously drop well over 50%. For example, they know that BB is selling Green Lantern & X-Men First Class BR Combo packs for $10 on BF. Amazon might want to price match, but also may not have enough in stock to advertise it. So it's very possible that if you happen to check those titles next week, they will be on sale at least at some point.

It should since BB has it for $8.99. I still haven't watched S1-3 yet but I'll buy S4 also.

Its coming.. Amazon.ca has a $10 coupon right now. I'm sure once BF sales calm down, it will go live. They might do it this week, although Amazon & Disney would make more money by holding onto it another week or so, since alot of people will pre-order without the coupon (and most wont know one even exists).

That Pulp Fiction is going to be gone REAL FAST! Anyone that wants it is going to have to be camped out at the pc/laptop/tablet/phone when it starts.
And the next lightning deal will NOT start once the other is sold out. Amazon is very, very consistent with their start times. If they say it starts at 2pm PST, it starts at 2pm PST without fail.

Items go on sale starting at the PST listed, and so long as they are in stock, they are available for the entire time. Super-hot deals have been known to sell through in seconds, and others can last the full 4 hours. Ime most go somewhere in between.

Something I would recommend is setting up a bluray.com account if you dont have one and set up a price track for the movies you want. When the movie(s) are within the set price range youre looking for, you'll get an email. As long as you set a little wiggle room with the price, you'll catch whatever deal is on the film you want. One thing though - price tracking DOES NOT include lightning deal prices.
Someone said Amazon has a very similar feature on their site, but I dont know anything about that one.

Best Buy dropped their BD prices on a bunch of stuff (Scarface - $11.99), I submitted the price to Amazon, so hopefully they start matching Best Buy during the run up to Black Friday.

It looks like they have also dropped The Fighter down to $10.99, which matches Best Buy's advertised BF price, but I am hesitant to buy because $10.99 doesn't seem like a great BF kind of deal and am wondering if it may go even lower. Does anyone know if it is supposed to be cheaper elsewhere?

I do not know if anyone else does this or not? But I save all my coins all year long (maybe I should have made a new thread?) just for Blu-rays. If you used coin star and get a Amazon GC they do not charge you the 9.7% fee. Best way to do it, is just do not give out change even if it comes to $$.01. Come home put it in a jar.

Very hard to do even if you do have a store going out of business like this. In most case its a rent version of the movie (just the movie with lots of trailers). Top it off most not all people do not care how they take care of the discs. Cheaper, faster, better to just buy it new in most case or wait. I remember (last year?) Hollywood video all the problems I had ALL the disc came down to a lower cost before I even watched them. No rent discs and the ones that had a dvd or a extra disc. Just saying.

2. Not all discs are "rental" versions and I believe this is one of the ones that isn't or I wouldn't have posted it.
3. Blu-rays do not get scratched the way DVDs did. Plus, they don't get rented as often which means less wear on the discs. I've probably purchased 300-400 used discs and only one had a scratch that made it freeze up.
4. $4

Thanks for posting.
