Unfortunately, that didn't guarantee success. I did the same thing, but I'm on the wait list.

Mine button actually took an extra few seconds to appear, causing me concern, but still clicked as soon as it appeared and it went through fine. Maybe some browsers are slower / crappier at this? We're the failed attempts using IE?

Yes, I got one also. As others here have said, the way to get a popular title is to wait for the countdown clock and then hit the purchase button as soon as it appears. Then you have fifteen minutes to complete the purchase. In my case I had the cart pre-stuffed with some other deals listed above that pushed the total over $25.

Brave was only released last week so I am not surprised that it went quickly. Perhaps it will last six seconds on "Cyber Monday"! [Monday, 12:20 PM PST]

That's possible, but then again I was using IE (no choice here at work). And yes, on my computer, the buttons for the other lighting sales popped up first and I was getting worried, but then it finally showed up for Brave. I think one's browser or ISP could be a factor, hell one nano-second hiccup could have made all the difference apparently.

I don't know how Wal-Mart's pricing works. I've actually never been to a store! There's one near my patents' house (where I'm at for Thanksgiving) but I refuse to drive over there & spend my Thanksgiving evening shopping at a B&M store!

Last night I was able to buy 2 copies of The Lorax on Blu for $8.96 (part of the same Blu/Black Friday sale as Brave...even though Brave is still listed at $30 on the website). I'm HOPING I'm able to do the same for Brave tonight. (Sale is supposed to start at 8pm...again I don't know if that's just actual stores or not. Anyone know?? I know this I'd an Amazon thread, but...)

It was bullshit in that I watched the clock tick down & I didn't even have the option to get on the wait list! It was just gone!

I tried adding it to my cart as soon as the sale started but the discount wasn't reflected-- even as I got to the last portion of the checkout. And again, not even a waitlist option for me. 😞

I'll either try Wal-Mart tonight or the lightning deal again on Monday!

Question though-- are you able to get two copies of a lightning deal price? Or is it one per customer?

For Brave, try Walmart right now! Check the thread about scoring it for the Black Friday price, plus there is a Disney rewards coupon too!

Re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27

Awesome, thanks! It was down to $12.99 the other day, and that was just still a bit too much for a show that depresses me as much as this one does. $7.99 is the sweet price point for depressive Blu-Ray purchases.

It's a buy 2 get $6 off coupon available from the DMR website. So you can buy 2 Brave movies at WM for (8.96*2)-6 (plus tax).

My family is about to sit down for Thanksgiving dinner... It's bad enough I'm on-line browsing for shopping deals! I would never leave the house to drive to a store today! Deals on Blu-rays aren't THAT important! I think it's so stupid that these B&M stores are even open today in the first place.

Our local K-mart is open today from 6am - 4pm, closed for 4 hours for a dinner break, then reopens at 8pm for BF sales. Crazy

Boss Season 1 is $9.99. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005S97UY2

Damn! I thought Louie S2 was good yesterday at $12.49. I long for the days of 30 day price protection...

The upside is that there are zero crowds to deal with. Was in and out of Walmart in five minutes at 1 p.m. today to pick up three titles I was otherwise going to be forced to wait for and to take a chance on Amazon's Lightning Deals.

For those of us who are single (not all of us have families to sit down to dinner with) and don't otherwise have plans today, I'm grateful that a.) some stores are open and b.) some of the BF deals went live extra early.

Brave went instantly for me, too. I clicked the moment the button appeared and while it was checking availability, it went 19% then 57% than 84% claimed before refreshing and telling me I was over 500th on the Wait List. All in about 50 seconds. I camped in front of the computer for 45 minutes waiting for an alert that I could buy it, but none came and I had to get ready for dinner. 2:20 later and still nothing. Suckage. Can't schlep out to Wallyworld either to get one, so none for me. Bother.

I got wait listed on Brave but it worked out in the end. I was going out for Thanksgiving dinner and fortunately it wasn't too far out of my to drop by Walmart. Picked up a couple of copies for $8.96 and used the $6 Disney coupon to make it a even better deal.

"Drive" has been $9.99 for at least a couple of weeks. Long enough for me to buy one copy, get it in the mail, and then realize that it would be a great gift for my brother and buy another copy. A great price for a great movie.

Thanks to whoever posted about the WM + DMR coupon deal and that the prices were working early I ventured out to WM (1.5 miles from the house) and snagged a couple. It took all of 20 minutes. The speediest BF trip I've ever done.

Yep. I bought this box set back when it was $24.99 in an Amazon one-day sale. Disc 1 and 2 are Blu-ray. Disc 3 is a DVD. Disc 4 is a CD of the remastered soundtrack. Other extras are 2 books (both with color pictures along with the text) and a wind-up music box that plays "My Favorite Things" in a loop. A rather solid box set.
