If anyone's interested Amazon has The Big Bang Theory Seasons 1-4 priced at $16.99 a piece. They're matching Best Buy. Season 5 unfortunately isn't on sale though.

You lucked out!

I wouldn't dare interrupt my Thanksgiving dinner so when my family finished dessert & started passing out, I decided to venture over to Wal-Mart. I was hoping to find Brave or Prometheus for $8.96.

Big mistake. I got there at 8:45. The place was a frigging zoo. Everything was picked over. No decent Blus at all. I couldn't get down aisles. Lots of moms shouting out to no one in particular that they need a copy of Brave. At that moment I quickly turned around & got the fuck out of there. I feel so dirty & ashamed! I promised myself I would never be one of "those" Black Friday people!! I can never wash that off now!!

The silver lining was, this has convinced me to do all of my holiday shopping ON-LINE this year.

So now I'm crossing my fingers for the Brave lightning deal (round 2) on Monday! And Prometheus is not bad at $10 on Amazon right now.

God, I REALLY wish I didn't venture out to Wal-Mart tonight. Ick!!

Of course everything was picked over at 8:45. The reason why this was a great deal is because it went live before everything was officially on sale at 8, so if you walked in early, you could grab one off the shelf (not out of the bins that everyone would be hovering around that they would be opening at 8), and walk right out.

Right. I realized that. I took my chances. I figured, 45 minutes into the official start of the sale I'd at least find a copy of Prometheus. But no dice. I guess didn't realize the DVD deals would be as popular as they were. I thought people would be acting crazy for other, bigger ticket items. But at 8:45 I think people were just going crazy for EVERYTHING.

Part of me wished I had tried earlier in the day, but besides being occupied by actual Thanksgiving activities, I just know that my store would probably have been sticklers for the 8pm sale rules. Just my hunch. (All the DVDs/Blus on sale had big PROMO stickers on them.)

I got out of Wal Mart with my very modest haul in a few minutes at around 7:30. I looked over the bins that people were crowding around and just about every single one of them had the wrong price listed for the discs it was holding. Got my discs from the regular shelf and bailed.

Season 5 was $16.99 on Monday. Maybe it'll come back since they've all gone on sale at different times already.

I was afraid I would miss Brave, due to being away from home with family and post-Thanksgiving meal socializing, but thanks to my parents' wifi and an ipad, I was able to snag it without appearing too unsociable.

I don't feel like I lucked out at all. I just quickly made alternate plans after the Amazon deal collapsed. I simply followed the advice posted in another thread about the Walmart deal being active early. I happened to have reservations for dinner at 2:30 and made sure to leave early so I would have time to stop at Walmart first. I figured the earlier the better to beat the crowd that would probably show up in the evening.

damn, $2 cheaper than when I ordered it this morning. The status is "shipping soon" so I can request a cancellation. I don't automatically get the cheaper price because it dropped before shipping do I? (like the pre-order guarantee)

Not automatically, unfortunately. You can usually chat with a rep and get them to just give you the adjustment if it hasn't shipped yet (or, like you said, request the cancellation and reorder).

Brave is on sale for $8.96 at Walmart.com. I know this is the Amazon thread, but thought some may want to know from the Lightning Deal discussion. I ordered a copy.

Thanks for that link. I missed out on the Amazon deal. Then went in to WM tonight with the coupon knowing I'd probaby be too late.

Edit to add: Item is out of stock when I tried to order.

For those still looking for Brave, it's going to be on another LD on Monday, Nov. 26th @ 12:20pm PST. The item is: Brave (Three-Disc Collector's Edition: Blu-ray / DVD) - $8.96

I picked up a couple yesterday at WM with the coupon. I gave my daughter a second coupon in case she wanted to try a PM on Secret of the Wings but she decided to get Brave insead for some friends. Between the ~6:30pm time I got mine and the ~$7:15 time she went looking they'd sold out.

I was booting up my MIL's PC, but it was so slow I missed out. I could see the deal on my phone at 55% but the app wouldn't let me get the deal price. I got on the waitlist but couldn't sit by the computer while the festivities were going on.

I did get True Blood and Wrath of the Titans later, and Epic Mickey 2 off the waitlist. I rebooted the computer between each deal.

This thread was fun for a while, until it became all about Brave and Big Bang Theory.

well if Disney's BDs ever got cheap on a regular basis we wouldn't be make a big deal out of it. Unfortunately...their BDs are a bitch to find cheap at times. I thought it was a minor miracle that Cinderella was $15. Bought that blond bitch ASAP.

I found it terriific on a technical level, but a disappointment in terms of story (which I also felt about "Cars 2"), and yet, when I look at reviews of the package and I see that price... its hard not to be interested. Disney puts out quality product and its rarely offered at such low prices (other than what you can work up for "Release Week", -though I suppose this counts in a way). Of course, I'm saying this as an adult, -Kids probably love the film, particularly young girls.

I liked it a lot. Far better than most of the crap people are buying.
