Before release? Maybe a buck or two lower. But, if you're willing to brave it (yuk-yuk), Walmart apparently will have the standard edition for $9 over Black Friday. Amazon might offer it at a "competitive" price as a result.

Re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27

Does anyone know when the deals go live on Amazon on BF? Should I stay up after midnight, or get up at 4-5am? Last year I was up at 7 or 8am, and they had sold out of a couple things, and raised the price of one other blu-ray.

Amazon's DOTD just dropped to $19.99

And just think I thought I got a great deal when I got the UK version for $40 a few years ago.

I think the earliest things start is 7am EST. I think BTTF started at that time a couple of years back. I don't recall anything ever starting earlier for us East Coast people.

This is the lowest Amazon price so far.

They'll post a calendar beforehand (probably next week) that shows the detailed times for all the deals each day.

Re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27

Given Walmart.com's previous LOTR EE BD $35 price (which I missed) and my mental $39.99 maximum price, this is still a bit too high for me. I've waited this long, what's another year or two until I get $35 or less. I'd prefer $30 as $10 x 3 movies is my normal 2D BD maximum for older movies.

Also, WARNING... ALERT... for the first time in over a year I signed up for a 1 month Prime trial for BF week. Therefore, expect crappy deals during those 30 days because we can't have any good deals while Manzana has Prime. Of course Crash S1 BD is now too expensive for me. We'll see how good the BF lightning deals are and if I manage to get in on any of the good ones before they sell out in 1 second.

Shouldn't that calendar be out by now? The deals should start this coming Monday judging by past years.

yeah. Still too high for this month. Any other month...it'd be reasonable...too high for this month.

I gave up the wait for a lower price and ordered it. But I bought two copies and hope to sell one once the price goes back up and use the profit to defray the cost of the one I keep. Bit of a nuisance but it should work unless the price collapses and stays that way, which seems unlikely to me.

Yeah, their countdown shows Monday morning, so based on years past iirc the calendar should definitely be out.

This.

And from that...I will now own all the Coppola films that I really love (The Godfather Part I and II, AN, and The Conversation). One that I kind of like (Bram Stroker's Dracula). And another that I don't really care for (The Godfather part III)

Gave in and pulled the trigger on LOTR and threw in The Conversation for good measure. Never seen it, but Coppola and Hackman seems like a win-win to me.

Is Amazon doing a Black Friday Week Blu-ray/DVD lightning sales again? I know they always released a schedule of what was on sale for the week with what times they went on sale.

Last year, the calendar came out on the Friday before, so we'll probably see it today or maybe this weekend.

There is an eight dollar coupon if you preorder the Peter Pan (Three-Disc Diamond Edition: Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy).

Pretty frustrating. I have $50 GC, but don't want to use it on a February pre-order. Yet, the clipped coupon is considered an $8 promo credit, so when I try to switch to a different payment method other than my GC balance, it also removes the $8 coupon.
