$36 a season sounds pretty good, if you don't already own the set. MBV is tempting for the 3D, but I doubt I'd watch it more than once or twice.

I'm hesitating on the Twilight Zone set. It's a good price but I can't help to wonder if I could have better down the road.

Re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27
When Lizard posts prices, I sometimes make price notes of ones that interest me to use as fillers since I don't have Prime and have to wait until I have $25 worth. Unfortunately with the way Amazon literally jacks around with prices daily (usually in an upward direction unless I already own or don't want it), this strategy doesn't work well because by the time I'm ready to place an order my filler items are all $1-$3 more expensive, and I can't bring myself to pay the higher prices. Maybe that's why I only place maybe 1 small order at Amazon per month. I understand that prices change, but Amazon's prices are beyond hyper volatile. To get the prices here you have to jump instantly which I can't do w/o Prime. Supposedly I'll be able to get Prime around BF since they have a waiting period between trials (18 months, I think). Sometimes I think every time someone looks at an Amazon product page, their software registers interest in it and jacks the price up a little later each time.
The most expensive BD season sets I ever bought was the Lost series at about $22 each. I guess I'm weird that $36 per season of Twilight Zone seems expensive. I got the DVD sets for $18-ish from Deep Discount long ago (back when I did business with them). Those will have to suffice for me.

Prime is not expensive at all if you go in with a few people. I only pay $16 a year, which is totally worth it to not have to worry about "filler" items and all of this other crap that makes some people go insane.

Like many others here I put items of interest in my "Saved for Later" list on the shopping cart page and check it each day for price changes. Now every day I have a blizzard of changes. It is clear that Amazon automated their price adjustment algorithm; I sure would like to know how and why it works the way it does. I can't be the only person who is finding it a lot harder to spot bargains at Amazon and, therefore, ordering less from them!
I presume that someone at Amazon sees orders going up from regular customers or something, as opposed to the serious bargain shoppers here.

I would think a Dvd for much less money would provide the same viewing experience based on the source material.
It would be like buying Clerks on BD. I just do not see the point of spending the money.

It all depends on what can be done with the source material. To me, a B&W movie can look just as good as a color one on blu-ray. If the reviews are to be trusted, Twilight's video quality is amongst the best B&W blu-ray out there.

Good Lord, yes. Seriously, those are some of the absolute most gorgeous Blu-ray discs on the market, period.
Comparing a lovingly restored 35mm television series (well, aside from those 6 shot on video eps) to a gritty, fiercely independent, 16mm production is pushing you in a very wrong direction.

I (and everyone else) can enthusiastically vouch for the transfers on the Twilight Zone episodes - it's as if you're watching restored short films, not episodes of a television show.

Lizard, what you do is cool and I appreciate it. I don't expect you to keep track of tiny changes or list everything. Just posting a handful of titles is good enough and gives me some ideas. There's just no way I could search Amazon daily or weekly for price drops. My post was just commenting on Amazon's beyond-normal price volatility lately. In the past, prices changed but not almost daily, and typically prices drifted downwards rather than up-down-up-down by a couple dollars. So my filler item strategy isn't working well lately, and as a result I haven't bought much from Amazon. I seriously wonder if Amazon now factors in how many people view a page in deciding if the price should tick upwards. No proof of it... just a gut feeling as stuff I look at and don't buy tends to go back up in price. Amazon is the closest thing to the Nasdaq that's not a market exchange... we should their pricing system AmazonDAQ.
Shagrath, unfortunately I don't have anyone else to split a Prime membership with, and if I did everything would have to be shipped to one person's home making the logistics a bit difficult. Fortunately I'm not in much of a movie buying mood lately, so I'm OK not spending much. Actually about the only things I've ordered from Amazon in the last couple months are a slew of Disney animated BD preorders.
I'm hoping that I'll get a Prime trial in time for BF as my 18 month waiting period is supposed to be up mid November.
