I ordered Blow Out a couple days ago, and today my Quick Picks have the following: White Material, Le Cercle Rouge, Topsy Turvy, Au Revior Les Infants, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, and Step Up 3D.

I don't know. I had 6 Criterions in the GB yesterday after purchasing a couple that were on sale. Today I have 5 more. This is after I had 2 straight days with not one item of any kind in my Gold Box.

How do I do that? I don't recall ever NOT having something offered in the GB before this week, so I don't get what's happening. I've bought plenty of BDs and several Criterions over the past year, so my Recommendations page was loaded with those, but not at a discount. Amazon knows I've been looking at Blow Out because I clicked the banner for the Austin Powers and it helpfully suggests, "Customers buy this DVD with Blow Out (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray]" It knows I want it, but refuses to give me a dollar to seal the deal. Grrrrrr.

UPDATE: I found this post listing a way to supposedly kick the system into action, but it seems like you have to defeat all the features and conveniences of the system in order to hopefully get the specific prize you want dropped in the box. Meh.

UPDATE 2: I tried clearing my cookies and updating Firefox to 4.0.1 and after restart nothing has changed. I went to look at their recommendations and of each group of five items, one or two of them were Crit BDs. They think I'm in the market, but can't figure out that tossing me a bone will seal the deal.

Half a dozen CC titles in my Gold Box today. Very tempting.

I've had Criterions in my gold box since my first order. Nothing too fantastic though.

Please forgive me for being dumb.. but where are you finding you're personal gold box items? All I see is the "today's deals" at the top and it doesn't have any movies at all.

Click Today's Deal and scroll to the section labeled "Your Name's" Quick Picks.

Re: Criterion Blu-ray Sale at Amazon

Thanks. I don't have any great deals. Bummer. Although I've only purchased one Criterion from Amazon in my life. But my search history would hopefully give me some good deals. I guess not! lol

Re: Criterion Blu-ray Sale at Amazon

Several Criterions have shown up in my Gold Box yesterday and today, but none were there until after I ordered 6 sale titles two days ago. There weren't any titles I needed yesterday, but today they've dropped YI YI ($18.99) and ECLIPSE 25 ($21.37), which were the only two I shunted to the "buy later" section of my cart, conveniently enough. FISH TANK also showed up ($17.57), which is tempting. Does seeing these in one's Gold Box have something to do with purchasing titles during this sale specifically? Seems unlikely, but . . .

Unlikely? How about absolutely. I've searched for and viewed many Criterions at Amazon but I've also purchased them during the B&N sale. And I've never had a Criterion in my Gold Box but after I bought a few when this sale started I've had almost nothing but Criterions: had 6 yesterday and 5 today. It's not a coincidence.

Re: Criterion Blu-ray Sale at Amazon

I have no Quick Picks section. Amazon hates me.

I bought a couple of Crits last year and one this week and there are only a couple more I'm in the market for. I should just suck it up and pay the buck and get on with it. [sad face]

I was just wondering the same thing, I'm in the same boat. It's pretty ridiculous.

Re: Criterion Blu-ray Sale at Amazon

I have some sale Criterions in my Gold Box today and I haven't purchased anything in this sale (and I haven't purchased a Criterion from them in years). Of course, the Criterions I want (Blow Out and the America Lost and Found set) are not there... le sigh.

I also have Taxi Driver in there for 12.34 not much of a discount but I may pick it up...

Just keep checking the deals each day as the past two days I had nada on the deals in the first post.

Re: Criterion Blu-ray Sale at Amazon

I promised myself I was done with this sale unless the discount percentages dropped further, then this shows up in my Gold Box:

I'm pretty sure Amazon is reading my mind.

That's the normal discount on a $12.99 title.

Re: Criterion Blu-ray Sale at Amazon

My Quick Picks always appear to be heavily weighted toward my actual purchases rather than to my wish list or cart adds. I know there's overlap, but that's how it seems to me.

Yes, but my point is that 12.34 is a better price than 12.99.
