That seems to be the case for me. My mom used my account a few weeks ago to buy some Broadway and light contemporary CDs and until today my Quick Picks was Simpsons and Big Bang Theory. Now it's three Broadway CDs.

After an order that included Sweet Smell of Success yesterday, my Gold Box today had Senso and Silent Naruse, which were the two that I was hoping for.

I ordered a spaghetti western set and an old horror movie last night it filled my gold box with CCs today... weird but I'll take it.

Keep in mind that the Naruse set will be cheaper during the B & N sale, since you'll be able to use an $8 coupon on it.

Had half a dozen in my Quick Picks yesterday, another half a dozen today -- all different. Ended up double-dipping on Fish Tank because of it.

Guess how many Quick Picks I have?

A: NONE!!! ZERO! ZIP! NADA! NIL! BUPKISS! A BIG FAT DONUT!!!! [rage face]

In the past 6 months, I've bought 24 BDs (incl. some TV) and 7 DVDs (mostly TV sets) and while only one was a Criterion (and the last two I bought were on BF 2009), the fact that I've gone FIVE STRAIGHT DAYS without any Quick Picks of any kind while others are getting crammed with Criterions is really making me feel a little persecuted despite how Amazon is pretty much my first shopping stop for everything. Grrrrrr.

I'm not so sure the coupon will work on this set because the coupon says it's based on the "selling price" and this set will ring at less than $40 during the sale. I'm willing to bet a lot of people will be refused.

You guys just need to buy one and then check the quick picks tomorrow. I never used get Criterions for quick picks, then I bought two the first day of the sale and I've had nothing but Criterions since.

The small print on the coupon states "The B & N Selling Price is the price at the cash register before taxes and discounts, including the standard Member discount, are applied." Wouldn't the 50% off count as a discount? Who knows though, considering the various horror stories about power-mad B & N cashiers. As with anything B & N-related, YMMV. Even if they refuse the $8 coupon, I can still use a $5 off of $50 one, so that's something at least.

I considered that, but it isn't guaranteed that there will be another B & N Criterion sale, and this is a set that I'll watch just about as soon as I get it. At $18.99 for 3 DVDs with 4 features and a short, it would have been considered a great deal before B & N started their Criterion sales. I'll find other items if the sale happens again in July.

It will definitely be YMMV. Some cashiers will apply the coupon without even looking at it, and some will study it like scripture. Some will be open to interpreting the fine print in our favor, and some won't budge an inch. Same as every B&N sale.

I bought 8-1/2 on the first day of the scale and that got me nothing. For FIVE DAYS STRAIGHT! I almost bought Wings of Desire, but my g/f thought it was too much and is getting it on DVD from someone on CL. I've been doing the add to cart, save for later, put on wish list, hokey pokey all week with Blow Out and this is why my GB has looked like every single day:

I've gotten Quick Picks in the past - I bought Avatar CE that way - so I don't get the screw-over now. If they were tossing other Crits in other than the one I want, I could cope with that, but this is really galling me.

The sale doesn't count as a discount because the cashier doesn't have to enter anything; they ring up at half price which makes that the selling price. Regardless, there will be people who use it successfully becasue it's not clear enough. YMMV for sure.

I ordered blowout cuz it's the one that gets the least amount taken off from the Gold Box deal. I better see some CC BDs sometime near in my fucking future.

I saw Still Walking and Topsy-Turvy in my Gold Box today, two titles I have zero interest in.... but Le Mans was there, I ordered it instead.

I didn't have any quick picks for a couple months there, but they reappeared a few days ago. It might be based on how often you placed orders, as their disappearance coincided with a lull in my shopping.

Can't we only get one gold box item discount per day?

These were in my quick picks and it seemingly gave me the discount for both in one order.

Try to "wake up" your quick picks by doing the following...

Order 2 or 3 Criterion BDs that are on sale now. Pick the ones that you have no interest in and that are shipping in 9 to 13 days.

Hopefully in a a day or two, the Criterion BDs will start popping up in your Quick Picks. Once they do, cancel the above order.....

Good Luck!

problem w/ that is that Amazon (as a healthy fyi to the customer I guess) overestimates these things and it may just ship the next day.

I have Prime and some that I ordered a few days ago are still saying that they will ship in two weeks. If you're going to do this then at least order one or two that you do want and will not be hurt if they do ship it to you and you pay a buck more or so for it. Waiting on titles you want to own for less than a buck when we're already getting a decent discount on these is a bit silly.
