Here is the exact wording from their policy: "Timed events (e.g., early bird, door busters)". The problem is that it basically leaves it to the interperation of the store since it does not specifically state any ad less than a normal 1 weed ad. Not to mention it just gives examples of what a timed event is. I would agree that a timed event would only be for certain amount of hours for 1 day, BUT I definitely see where they are coming from due to the way the policy is not SPECIFIC.

I was doing one at a time in the beginning, but then started doing two at a time. I think I did three once. I have never had them tell me "only one per purchase" until this morning, but then she realized it was expired and I got nothing.

I did go to a different Target during my lunch break, and successfully used the $5 coupon on Jennifer's Body and 9. Still can't find Public Enemies in-stock anywhere to save my life... That is the last title I want to buy with the coupon, assuming I can find it by 12/31. Once it rolls into January I won't even attempt the coupon anymore... It had a good run, and shall miss it so...
House S5 and Office S5 are hard to find as well, but I did find them at store opening this morning... I forgot to PM Best Buy's ad, but I can do that later. All of my local BB are out of stock on those as well...

Any wekly ad would be a "time-restricted sale" by their logic.
If a price isn't time restricted then it isn't 'on sale', that would be the regular price.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

I just got back from my local Target 5 minutes ago, successfully used the Target $5 coupon on Public Enemies in addition to the $5 coupon that was on the Inglourious Basterds Blu-Ray (that I had purchased on release week). Cashier pointed out that the IG coupon was supposed to be used when buying another Blu at the same time... then she said "forget it, I'll scan it anyway" (she had to override both coupons). She didn't even look at the Target Blu-Ray coupon.

Public Enemies $17
Target coupon $5
Manufacture coupon $5

Total $7.63

Sweet!

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

Went to one store and tried to use 5 coupons. At the register, it took the $5 off, but listed as expired on the register, so they wouldn't take it. Went to another Target and this time, I only took The Polar Express to the register. The guy took the $5.00 off with no problem. Went back to the electronics and took Slumdog Millionaire and The Departed to the same guy. Again he took both $5.00 coupons off with no questions.

Whoopee...I clipped the top off ONE coupon. It's not like this forum is full of saints when it comes to this stuff. You may have even pulled some illegal crap yourself. If the coupon was expired and not on Target's computer system after December 24th, then I wouldn't have even tried to use it. There have been many posts the last few days of people ignoring the expiration date and using this countless times after December 24th! So everyone here is equally as guilty.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon

Made my last trip most likely at around 2pm est. Picked up Predator and T1, along with Dexter season 3 standard which was on sale for $17. I paid at the electronics section which was packed with parents trying to figure out how to get their kids Xbox on live. He was selling them an access point. He looked at the coupons and said let me see if it works without me saying a word. He was totally cool about it.

My color ink ran out and i threw away my redplum coupon from my newspaper so I didn't bother trying to get Public Enemies. They we're also out of stock of Funny People. I was thinking about Paranormal Activity. But $20 for a BD I feel is to much for a bare bones rush job.I can see this being double dipped in 6 months.

Also off topic but I had to go to Costco to return something and picked up Close Encounters of a Third Kind BD for $14.99. Comes with all 3 versions of the film and interview with Spielberg. Lists for $49.99 and Amazon wants $32 so was a total steal.

Not necessarily, as it will all depend on how the coupon was originally applied...

Back when the coupon first began, when not every BD was working with it and some titles required an override by the cashier to be accepted, it would take $5 off of the total but not the actual item price....later on, when they fixed it and it automatically took with every BD, the price of the item would actually be reduced by $5 and the coupon would be shown as accepted underneath the item reducing its price....

If you were to take back a BD purchased under the first scenario, then you would get the pre-coupon full price back for it....however, under the second scenario, you would only get back the price after the coupon was applied (aka: what you actually paid)....

Anyway, back on topic: I used one today for Jennifer's Body, and it scanned with no problems....I didn't call any attention to the expiration date, but I also had several other coupons being used in the same transaction (buying diapers, paper towels, etc.), so I don't think the cashier even looked or cared....

It is $17 along with a bunch of select titles. Such as Slumdog Millionaire, Public Enemies, Angels and Demons, Four Christmases, Terminator Salvation, HP and the 1/2 Blood Prince, Troy, V for Vendetta, Batman Begins, Bettlejuice, Watchmen, Blow, Valkyrie, Body of Lies, Gremlins, Taken, 300, A Christmas Story, and Christmas Vacation. I'm missing a few.

You're probably right on it. I returned two BDs (not to scam them, just found them at better prices) and each time got back $5 from the 'coupon'. I've used it so many times though I wouldn't remember what scenario it was under

There's a difference between using an expired coupon (which many people do) and doctoring up a coupon to remove information.

Add Goodfellas and The Polar Express, to the $17 list.

WOW Swiski! You are seriously in denial if you think everyone else here who has attempted to use the coupon "fully intact" is equally as guilty as you are whether you did it with ONLY ONE coupon or if you did it with say 5 or more. The simple fact is what you did is FRAUD and I would not go around saying I got away with something like that. Target will/will not take it and if they do that is their fault then for taking something expired perhaps. But to try and actually HIDE the fact is a completly different story entirely.

I used the coupon tonight to buy Four Christmases, but I may return it because I've been reading nothing but terrible reviews since I got home.

How is it "fraud"? Target accepted the coupon, they know the coupon is expired...I'm not seeing how this is "fraud" of Target still allows use of the coupon.

And what exactly are the ramifications of saying that I used the coupon today at Target? Are you going to come arrest me?

He altered the coupon, plain and simple. That's something that is also not to e discussed on the forum either.

I actually didn't buy it at all.. I was asking because on ... Saturday? I saw a few blu-rays I was actually interested in discounted down to $20 or cheaper, and the $5 coupon would've made it ~$13 or so but the coupon is a huge YMMV right now. A friend of mine said I should've bought it last week and held onto it to price match it now. I just wasn't sure what Target would do with a PM when a coupon was involved... I've never done that with Target and the return/PM policies keep changing... too hard to keep track of.

The PM likely would not have worked. Many of us lost our coupon when pricematching, since the Target coupon actually lowers the price of the item. For example, a 24.99 title shows as 19.99 on the receipt, therefore would only get you 2.99 back if pricematching to the $17 sale, instead of 7.99 like you'd think.
