Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
I saw it in theaters, and wanted my money back. It's okay to view once, but personally I wouldn't recommend owning it. If you have Netflix, I suppose it's worth a rental...

In fairness, he didn't really "doctor it up" like the idiots that used Photoshop to remove the Transformers picture or change the expiration date. Although cutting off the expiration date may be wrong, he could easily cough it up to "cutting the coupon in the wrong place" if questioned. I'm not condoning what he did, but I've seen people do a lot worse. Well, he did it once, I doubt he'll do it again, so I think we can let it drop. You guys have made your point. We don't need to overtake the thread with a big argument about this...

I know that he cut the corner off, that's in the realm of OK, but to photoshop a coupon to change the expiration date is the same as stealing.
Just to give a couple examples that are from my local Target... Guy #1 printed off UPCs for inexpensive Star Wars Legos toys onto stickers, put them on expensive Star Wars Legos sets and bought them for the lower price (got caught when he returned for more). Guy #2 bought a plastic storage bin, put the DVD set of House, Season 4 into it, put a second plastic storage bin on top. Checked out and didn't seperate the bins or otherwise let the cashier know that the DVD set was in there. Both were arrested for theft and Guy #2 lost his $200,000 a year job as director of the Abraham Presidential Museum. "It was up to the cashier to catch that the UPC and the product didn't match", "I forgot about the DVDs" or "The cashier should have looked" just aren't valid excuses.
As for the $5 coupon... I miss it.

Thanks. I've already decided to return it. I've had enough blind buys burn me, but I don't see 3-star-or-less reviews often, and Four Christmases received them across the board.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
Sorry. I thought "doctoring" a coupon was fraudulent only if someone was to change the text or the bar code on a coupon using a program like Photoshop. Technically, a coupon is not suppose to work anymore if the expiration date is expired. This is another glitch in Target's system that people are taking advantage of. So again...it's not fair to point fingers at one person (me) when others here are not being honest as well when they go to the checkout lane, getting away with using an expired coupon.

It's too bad Target doesn't have self-checkouts like Wal*Mart does. Wouldn't have to worry about your coupon getting rejected with those.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
I picked up SuperBad today using the $5 coupon. Does SuperBad come with a slipcover?
Also are Casino Royale 2 disc and Beetlejuice possible to find with slip covers at Target (or anywhere for that matter)?

Sorry for the misunderstanding... I didn't mean to come across as a douche in my post. I was a bit hung over earlier... and I get really irritable/defensive, it's just a side effect.

As opposed to talking about a deal that ended a week ago?

Too damn bad these assholes didn't get caught earlier. I work retail and hate filth that creates SHRINK for us. We have ipods, wiis, ps3, and bunch of other stuff that comes up missing and that infuriates me.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
I used it Wednesday on "Watchmen" ($17 sale price minus $5 = $12). Had to try it at three different Targets before I got one who would accept it:
Store #1 - It came up as vaild & deducted the $5, but the cashier saw the date on the coupon and nixed it.
Store #2 - Cashier kept scanning (at my insistence to "humour me") but nothing deducted.
Store #3 - Scan deducted the $5, and the cashier accepted the $12 total.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
I took the coupon to customer service and asked a manager if it was still allowed if it scanned properly. He said that as long as they had it active in their system that they were going to continue to accept it (he had someone else ask earlier that day also).
Being a Target coupon, rather than a manufacturer's one which they wouldn't get reimbursed for, I figured it was okay to go that route.
