Got My Bloody Valentine for $9.99. PM'ed with Best Buy for $14.99, and stacked a $5 coupon.

Target hasn't had a really strong selection of in-stock titles, though, but I did manage to use about ten coupons... got Phantom of the Opera for $5, MBV-3D for $10, Shaun of the Dead for $12, Inglorious Basterds and Fight Club for $12 each, 2010 for $10, Serenity for $10, and a few others I can't recall from the top of my head...

Picked up G-Force for $7.99 after the two coupons (Didn't get a Walmart ad so didn't try to pricematch). Also picked up Speed while I was there. I have had absolutely no issues with the coupons at my Target. I have not tried to pricematch anything, but probably will do so in the future just to see how my Target handles it.

$19.99....so using both the $5 off store coupon and the $3 off manufacturers coupon, you can get it for $11.99, which is a dollar cheaper than the DVD version!

I love this coupon. Got G-Force, Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure and Reservoir Dogs for under $14.00 with the coupons, price matches and the Disney coupons.

I finally made it to Target to pick up Inglourious Basterds this morning. There were four copies of the Blu-ray - each one crammed in those plastic anti-theft cases. Three of the slipcases were pretty beaten up, but one looked unharmed. Went to a lone cashier who happily accepted the $5 off coupon and the $3 Red Plum coupon. She congratulated me for saving so much money. "Wow, what a painless process!" I thought. I came fully prepared to argue if they tried to deny me.

Then came the problem: The woman told me how hard it was to open the security boxes and then promptly began pounding the Blu-ray on the counter. I mean HARD. I told her there should be a device to open them behind the counter, but she just kept pounding away. Finally, she asked to borrow my keys. Strange, but I complied. She then jimmied the thing and began digging into the side. "Please, be careful with the box..." I pleaded. "But it's wedged in there good," she replied. Finally, the thing popped open and she handed me the Blu-Ray - with two big gashes dug right through each side of the spine. I felt like taking the movie and pounding her over the head with it, but promptly paid and left the store. It's not like any of the other slipcases were in better shape. Still...

So some Targets use security cases? I've never encountered them here in Texas.

Wal-Mart is the only store I can think of that uses those.

My local Wal-Mart occasionally uses security cases, but there is no rhyme or reason to what they put in them. Last week they had 3 copies of Snow White in the security cases (sans slipcovers) next to six that were just sitting on the rack.

At least at my target they have a new tag up on Coraline Blu-Ray for low pirce of $19.99 and not just a temporary sale. Stashed a copy away as I did not have my coupons on me. Will have to go back later and scoop it for $11.99 with the $5 coupon and $3 Redplum coupon. I had this one on Amazon at that price Black Friday week and then it went back up in price the next morning.

And how did you score Tinker Bell for $2? I'm not even really interested, but for $2 I think I'd give it a shot anyway.

To get it for $2, you have to price match it to Best Buy @ $16.99 (their 3-day sale, ending today), then apply the $10 Disney coupon and then use the $5 Target coupon. $16.99 - $10 - $5 = $1.99.

Of course, it all depends on who does the price match - if someone is following Target's price match policy to the letter, they may not allow it. However, in all the instances I have price-matched to Wal-Mart or Best Buy so far and used the Target coupon, I have yet to have a problem. A simple rule of thumb when price-matching: do NOT have your coupons visible. Let them match the price first, then drop the coupons down when you are paying.

I had a different Inglorious Basterds experience. I went through all of the slipcases at Best Buy and selected the best one by far. I'm sure ALL of them were better than the mangled ones you saw at Target. Anyway, after I checked out, the cashier took my receipt, placed it ON TOP OF MY JUST PAID FOR BD, and writes his name on the receipt and circles it so I will take their fucking survey. Sure enough, his name is ENGRAVED on the slipcase for my BD. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I seriously would have told him to now go get me a new one in as good a condition that does NOT have his name engraved on it.

Springfield, IL is now YMMV with price matching ... denied twice in two days (sort of). They also wouldn't price match on a couple of board games because Target was offering a "free" card game with the purchase ... I tried to point out that the card game was not really "free" if they were charging me more for the game in the first place.

It is a $3 coupon that Target sometimes gives out when a customer has a problem as a way of saying "I'm sorry".
