I thought it provided additional background on the Cylon actions, but just my opinion...

That's not actually an opinion. That's what the movie did. But it was boring. Wait till you can get it for less than $5 used.

Even the unnecessary nudity could not save this movie. Watched this once and that's enough for me.

If you're a fan of Battlestar, The Plan is brilliant. Don't believe the haters!
And for $11.99 it's worth it for the opening scenes alone.

Since I got the "Complete" series without The Plan (and had to send away for the new packaging... fortunately that was free), I'd like to see The Plan. Most reviews do hate it for some reason. All I know is I enjoyed the series but was let down in the end by a few aspects of it. I read about the full frontal nudity in a review but with no details other than some characters meet in a topless bar... is it really full nudity or just topless? So while my OCD will make me buy this someday just so that spot in my "Complete" collection is no longer empty, $11.99 is too much. I'm surprised that nobody mentioned DeepDiscount has it for $10.78, but even at that price which is basically $10 + tax I'm still very hesitant.

I'd have to disagree with this. It answers several questions about the Cylon infrastructure and plotting during the invasion that, quite frankly, are better left ambiguous, while addressing very little of the material about the Final Five that we'd really like to explore. Plus it steers several characters in directions that take away from the show's complexity. Worth a watch for curiosity's sake and for a few moments during the actual invasion, but that's it.

I do own it, after purchasing for $9.99 at Best Buy a few months back, just because I needed to flesh out my replacement Complete Series boxset. Doubtful that I'll watch it again.

I see this complaint quite a bit. There's actually not that much recycled footage in it at all. Most of it is just quick establishing shots to let you know exactly when it's taking place. That said, the movie has it's share of problems. Well worth it for the Anders scenes, though.

There are a cpl of nudity scenes. There's the topless chick(s) in the bar and there is a shower scene. There is atleast one piece of full frontal nudity in the shower scene(that I can remember) where the camera seems to focus in on a guys wang. The reason I remember it so well is how the camera was following the main characters then swings back around and stops/focuses in on it. rotfl

Well, if there were good 10 dollar titles a year ago I'm sure that they have added a few more which would mean that there are more "good 10$ titles" now than then. Even Walmart has a nice selection of 10 dollar releases and if you have patience you can get most of the titles that you desire for between 10 and 20 bucks. If you're expecting a handout then you might be waiting awhile.

I don't think that's what he meant. Last year around October overall prices dropped. New releases were an EASY $20 a piece. Just wait, I bet prices drop this fall as well. And then, come Thanksgiving/Black Friday....

I know what he meant but when people expect all new releases to be around 20 dollars on release date is asking too much. There are still quite a few titles released around the 20 dollar mark. We know that they can bump down the prices of more releases during that time because they expect to move more copies which will make up the difference. I think that the pricing for BDs has been fair and comparable to dvd prices for new releases. A few more bucks nowadays will often net you the HD version of a movie and a copy of the dvd as well.

That's the point. Myself, as well as a ton of others, DO NOT think that is asking too much. $22 at max, but as fast as prices drop, $20 is not unreasonable at all for a new release.

Hey, can we please keep this thread to just deals, please?

I don't give a shit what you people think about The Plan or what's reasonable for a new release, those are discussions for other threads.

Semi-hypocritical for someone who asked for a list of releases with DNR applied in the same thread....and multiple posts with your opinion on Eagle Dares. Why not let the moderators moderate.....

Be reasonable everyone. Every post is not going to be a deal. Every thread derails into a few posts about something mentioned in the thread. Ignore what you don't like. A forum where every thread is heavily moderated to the point where every variation on the topic is censored or moved isn't a community of people talking about a shared hobby, it's a boring list or spreadsheet. I'd rather have a community; enjoying the tangents I like, and politely tolerating the ones that I don't like but others enjoy.

Just remember that you also offered some discussion about the positive experience you had with Where Eagles Dare to help someone justify a purchase. I do agree with you, to a point, but I also think informing someone via a few quick messages why they might want to reconsider the purchase of a particular bargain -- especially when they say that they "can't decide" if they're going to buy it or not -- doesn't seem unreasonable. If the discussion briefly focuses on the film or TV series' quality, then I'm of the mind that it's merited and might help a fellow community member out.

Discussion about the general state of Blu-ray prices, however, probably shouldn't find its way into this particular bargain discussion.
