I agree with Maxflier, Looks like highly praised for the Witchblade anime. I havent seen nor bought the anime boxset but was it the same (plot/story) as the Witchblade TV series below?

I haven't seen the TV series, but based on what I've uncovered, the character elements (Sara Pezzini) and plots are closer to the original comics. The anime series deviates with completely new characters, a new setting (future) and main plot.

Re: Official ANIME Discussion Thread

I have to vouch for the new Berserk set. The image is vastly improved, and the disc art is utterly beautiful. I also love how THIN the packaging is... I wish all anime series came this way, maybe I'm just getting old, but I used to love big bulky sets... oh well...

So I'm not much of an anime person, but I just burned through Death Note in a week using Hulu. Absolutely loved it, and will definitely own it. Does anyone know of any Blu-ray rumblings? If not, I'll just get the two DVD box sets...

Same here. I was expecting a thick box, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it was in a regular size amaray.

Fist of the North Star film re-release. Didn't know how many of you knew about this or even care, but I'm pretty stoked I can finally get the film on disc without having to sell my first child (which I don't have).

For Death Note (anime)? It's Viz Media we're talking about here. It's not happening. Besides I don't believe it's been in Japan either.

Re: Official ANIME Discussion Thread

I'm a Silver Rewards Zone Bestbuy member got a free shipment for the Animes I ordered from a Bestbuy store kiosk that carry a 50% off sale.

First time I did this and I was suprised how poorly they packaged the DVDs.

Thank goodness the Cowboy Bebop Remix was packaged in a thick Amaray case.

so be forwarned if you intend to order your Animes!

Re: Official ANIME Discussion Thread

I just completed Le Chevalier D'Eon... It's just fairly good series, not good enough to put it on my top 10. I would recommend to anyone who considering to watch it.

Loved the movie. It was one of the first anime our animeclub watched. We had someone translate key parts as it played. I would past on this dvd though. Looks like it is just going to be a straight rip with no extra suff.

I received my FMA:S2 set from them the other day and it came in a box that could have fit about 3 of those sets inside it and yet had no packing material whatsoever, so it was just bouncing around in there. Didn't sustain any damage though, luckily.

Go for it. I'm through episode 18 of Witchblade and am really enjoying it. I needed a good show because the last show that I watched was Girls Bravo and that was pretty dismal.

Re: Official ANIME Discussion Thread

Just went ahead and ordered the remastered Gundam Wing DVD's from Amazon.co.uk

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gundam-Wing-...7356247&sr=8-1

The packaging and artbook alone are pretty snazzy.

I already own the Anime Legends releases from last year, but it's worth the upgrade =D (I'm sure they'll never release it here, as the U.S. arm of Bandai is always hurting for money)

And cannot resist $14.99 last night at Bestbuy
