Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 6th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (Oct 1-31) P
Just now was able to get my vote in. Thank you guys for the compliments over the haikus. I've never really done anything like them before but I was looking for something new to do this year. I wish I could have kept up with them but I'm trying to finish things up so I can graduate here in about a month. There's always next year.
I'm actually kinda depressed that the season's over. I'm still watching horror movies for my blog, but I always get sad when I see the Halloween stuff thrown out for Christmas as soon as possible. Plus it's always great to see such a large group passionately discussing the genre which only comes around once a year. Already biding my time for next year.
Also, does Full Moon really have any type of hope in retitling that Dead Man's Hand movie? Can't see how they're going to drum up any new interest that wasn't already there with only a title change. Just seems weird to me that they'd be trying that with that movie of all they own.

I'll PM Chad my vote for best list post, but I wanted to give some props to some of the standouts here.
- ViewAskewbian - I loved your list logo, and the depth of your responses.
- Undeadcow - Tied with ViewAskewbian for my favorite logo. Concise, well organized and fairly easy to browse.
- tarfrimmer - Nice use of posters and a clean way of providing basic information (title, production year, online links, run time, etc.). Easy to follow at a glance.
- llandros - I love the layout; good use of columns, posters and concise remarks about each film, along with some basic key information.
- Mondo Kane - Fun running tally of each day's viewing selections. I wish I'd done that.
- dcrw6 - Never use an unwieldy paragraph when a haiku will suffice! Clever.
- chuckd21 - I didn't really take the time to watch all the videos, but I tip my hat for being the only participant who took the time to create them.
- DEEveeDEE3 - Mmm...Danielle Harris...
- SterlingBen - I love the way you included your wife in your list. I meant to do that, but my wife was kind of busy this month and barely had time to watch movies, much less give me her thoughts about them. I'm definitely going to steal this idea for my 2011 list, though!
- Dick Laurent - I like the personalized photo, and the organization of your list, including format, run time, first lines, etc.
- liadela - A nicely compiled list, made even more impressive by being your first and (to date) only post on this forum.
- kthnxbai - I like the formatting here, and the inclusion of your favorite lines and scenes. And you managed to do it without being too specific, so even if there are spoilers they're not terribly obvious.
Ended up voting for Illandos on list format/content but some highlights for me include:
Dick Laurent was second runner up with nice format and fun logo.
Trevor would obviously win on frequency alone.
Tarfirmmer's list being just below mind motivated me with the posters and strong viewing times.
Alyxstarr and Numes' lists seemed most organized. Still trying to figure out the formatting on Alyxstarr's cool bloody hand bullets.
Mondo Kane's joe bob briggs style tallies were fun.
Chad, color boxes, how?
Pie charts? Really, exharrison?!? Nice...
Deeveedee3 gets props just throwing pictures of autographs and himself with celebrities
Kthnxbai had good detail with one-liner highlights and favorite scenes.
Dcrw6's hiakus were excellent when they were kept up with and I liked the retro emphasis
I appreciated everyone's reviews and found the following to have particularly dedicated reviews - J. Farley, SterlingBen, Brainee, MinLShaw, Viewaskewbian, Gobear, cardsfan1111, asianxcore, Mr Staypuft, rbrown498, Melmoth.

I did something similar for the Drive-In Challenge and can appreciate the amount of work that goes into it. Very impressive. I only had 50 or so lists but it drove me mad deleting everything from the thread but the movie titles.

First, I meant to post a thank you for those that mentioned how much they enjoyed my list, so thanks. My thoughts mirrored most of what had been posted, so I didn’t want to clutter with more of the same. Undeadcow and MinLShaw really summed things up well.
Second, thanks for sharing your madness, cproaps. That's pretty impressive.
Third, I want to apologize to everyone that #1909, O.C. Babes and the Slasher of Zombietown made cproaps’ list. I'm truly, truly ashamed that I watched that "movie" all the way through, and then to see it was counted on TWO lists.
Anyway, can't wait for that, you know, "other" thread...

If I had KNOWN how many entries there actually were, I wouldn't have done it. But, once I finally made it to page 2 of the posts, I was curious to see if I could break 1500. 3000? NEVER saw that coming. Of course I now have about 1000 titles I would love to see for the first time! And since I about made myself sick just watching 150 in a month, I know that I'll never have time to see even a fraction of them.

What's sad is I look at that list and realize that I've seen most of those movies. (And, more than once.)
