Everyone might also want to take a look at the cookies on your computer. I had one added from performanceoptimizer.com even though I'd closed the hijack window immediately.

Looks like the issue has been identified as a malicious ad coming via Ad Sense. A Fix is in progress.

Cool - good news.

I just got it trying to go to the Transformers thread in the HD section, but my company's Websense blocked it.

Glad to hear a fix is in the works. I just got the redirect again a moment ago while trying to access this forum.

I used to be getting it pretty constantly at work with IE. Since your last update, it hasn't happened yet and I've been bouncing around the forums quite a bit. I hope it worked sir, I appreciate the effort.

I also just got it again. I was really hoping it had all been fixed, since I didn't receive the re-directs this morning at all.

I was accessing the other forum page (Halloween costumes thread) from a hyperlink sent by a friend, when the IE window went to an alert pop-up just seconds after loading dvdtalk. I was able to read the thread title, and then the page changed to a small "error" window. Hitting X to cancel, I was re-directed to:

http://scanner.malware-scan.com/3_sw...958_0_3569_ao_

Another window also popped up in the lower right hand corner. I couldn't enlarge one, or move it at all. That window also disappeared when I closed the malware site.

Just got it twice from both my bookmarks (Bargains and main forum). It seems more aggressive/common than over the weekend.

I have not seen it since last night when I cleared out cookie/cache stuff.

Not at home on firefox, and not at work today on IE.

I'm getting it on Safari on the mac. Always chuckle when I get a "you have been infected" pop up on this thing.

The ad is annoying because I can't trash it by closing the window though.

Got it twice today - this morning at work (IE) and just now at home (FireFox).

If I did not have Norton Security, I would have a virus now.

The Forums are great and I hope you get it fixed.
I dont know if this is related. I was on Dvdtalk earlier today and about an hour later I was sending some email and right when I sent the email my computer screen went crazy something about malware, I kept clicking cancel but other windows kept opening up. I finally shut IE down and Zonealarm Antivirus poped up and said it had taken care of a virus.

I did not experience this while on Dvdtalk.

Just happened to me with Safari on the Mac as well. I was using Wamcom Mozilla under Mac OS 9 earlier today and didn't experience it once reading threads over the course of about 30 minutes, though.

Still happening on the main page. I installed the NoScript pluggin for Firefox and do not have the problem. Also disabling all AtiveX in IE fixed the problem. Have the window pop up at work was scarry as hell as I tried to run the AV right after clossing IE and got an error with Norton.
