Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

Continuing my DC focus this month with first time viewing of Superman Unbound last night. Went in totally blind, didn't even read the case as I was opening it, and was pleasantly surprised to find a...

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

Someone should have told me it was more like X-Files with 'teens' than the soap opera all the previews I saw made it look like. I'm sure it won't be like this all ten or whatever years, but we're...

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

Too much stuff too little time. But also, I like to wait until shows are completely finished before starting. Plus I have a 'save the best for last' thing. I'm pretty weird.

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

Any story involving me watching anything out of order involves me being chained down with toothpicks holding my eyelids open.

I actually enjoyed both Smallville (pilot and episode 2) and the...

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

Watched my first ever Smallville last night. It was ok, but my wife liked it, so I'll likely try to seize that opportunity to power thru it. It'll take at least 5 years, but I'm looking forward it...

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

The first book is great, an all-time classic. The next was very good iirc, but then I lost interest.

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

I think I'm going to stick with DC Comic stuff all month, to sync with our comic challenge.

Watchmen held up well for me, and the animated Wonder Woman film from a few years back was decent....

I think Vudu sells them. No on Netflix, just checked last night. I forget if Amazon Video sold them, but they aren't Prime.

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

Tried to watch Raiders last night, to 'show support for Harrison Ford", but either my xbox one, hdmi cable, or TV is on the fritz.

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

Nice. Is it streaming somewhere?

Family members? Is that what those other people living in my house are called?

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

Yeah, even without this gap, I think it'd be a good idea to have that Challenge last at least a few days after the Oscars.

Back on topic, I probably won't start my viewings tonight, as I'm in the...

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

You can start a 4 hour movie at 1407 then. As long as it ends at least one second after sunset, it counts. ;)

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

^ Definitely.

Of course, with genres this broad, much of all media counts. It's up to each individual to decide how they want to play.

You can get into the genre and Challenge aspects of...

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

Lost as in 100% definitely gone? Or lost as in buried in your house somewhere?

Can you make do with streaming some until they turn up?

Re: 4th Annual DVDTalk Action/Adventure/Crime/Mystery Discussion Thread

I think I love Hollywoodland but must admit biases.

I love all things comic book.
I love real life crime films.
I saw it soon after seeing Chasing Amy and was at my probable peak Affleck...
