I got Chase fraud alerted by my order is still active.
i’m probably just going to return it anyway because now that we know you can get them in-store on release day I am gonna grab one from Target with my Circle card to save a few bucks.

No charge yet on my end. But I did get a “get ready” email. Interestingly it seems that they’ve paid tip for our drivers.

Order total

Includes all fees, taxes, discounts and driver tip $536.43
You saved a total of $0.00

Unfortunately my Target order now shows an arrival date of 6/11 now. -rolleyes- I’ve heard they’ve cancelled some orders while simultaneously announcing there will be stock on launch day in stores. Freakin Target. I might try to go after work and try my luck but won’t be able to get there until 8. I want the discount AND to have it on launch day. Is that too much to ask :D

My Target order also says June 11th but is "ready to ship"

Nintendo charged my card the minute the order was placed.

Yup. But since mine is being delivered by a local store rather than UPS, FedEx, etc., I would imagine that's routine.

If you look at the symbol in your order history:

https://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/imag...48801916_1.png - a gig worker will bring it to your home
https://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/imag...48801916_2.png - UPS, FedEx, etc.

(In my case, I see both: the grocery bag for the Switch 2 and Pro controller; the shipping box for Mario Kart World and the wheels.)

Mine's still "preparing to ship". Same date, although I suspect it'll be here much sooner (though I'm not optimistic about arriving on 6/5).

yes, i have that blue symbol. what's a gig worker, like DoorDash? Some rando just going to drop it off is what it seems.

Instacart, Spark, Uber Eats, Rodie…sounds like a mix from what I’ve read. I don’t know for sure that’s how Walmart will deliver these, but it sounds like that’s what they usually do. I haven’t paid super close attention for the same-day deliveries I’ve gotten in the past.

Wait we know for sure there will be ample supply or are you saying they're definitely holding some back for in store release?

now that was cool. I was able to connect my Wavebird for the GC very easily with this little Bluetooth device to my OG SW. It synced immediately after some button presses. I played a little 2D side scroller to get a feel for the controls. I know they are mostly for GC games and that is why I shelled out the $10 it cost for this converter. I just hope it's as easy to sync with SW2 so I can truly capitalize on the Wavebird..

Pretty much everyone will have stock for in-store release.

BestBuy will have them available for their midnight release.
Gamestop is letting people come in at I believe 3PM the day before to pre-order their in-store supply.
Target is supposed to be handing out tickets for the people lining up before opening on the 5th for theirs.
Costco will have them, though I don't know how they are handling it.

Well, usually stores have stock when consoles are released, the question is how much stock and how easy is it to get. But I hope it is easy enough to get and not have to line up or anything.

I'm actually nervous now. My Walmart order is still in "placed" status. Nothing has been charged, but I did call CS and he told me everything is on schedule to arrive by Thurs and that I would be charged when it is out for delivery, which I didn't quite understand, but oh well. I guess will wait and see...

Did you get a notification to double check your address? I just got one yesterday I think.

edited to add: mine is still in "placed" status as well, but the next step is preparing and I wouldn't expect that to change until right before since it'll be same day delivery.

I think it makes sense. The advance preparation for shipping from a warehouse hundreds/thousands of miles away for a launch day delivery is unnecessary. Your Switch 2 is at a local Walmart store.

Little piece of advice from Nintendo: https://www.ign.com/articles/nintend...rotective-film

re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25

Ive seen that over and over my Twitter feed. I still haven't seen if there's any reason to use a screen protector with that thing. And if applying a screen protector would interfere with that film. And since no media outlet has access to a unit pre-release, I guess we just have to wait and see....

Guess I didn’t need the screen protectors I already bought. :grunt:

Yeah now I don't know if I should put on the screen protector or not. The OG Switch had a terrible plastic screen that scratched really easily so it was a no brainer. People are saying it's like the OLED model? Did the OLED model have a permanent protective layer?

Screen protectors are the biggest waste of money. In all my years of owning laptops, tablets, phones, and portable gaming and music devices, I’ve never once broken or cracked a screen.

My son did crack his tablet screen when he was about 5, but throwing it from the second floor onto the tile will do that.

I looked at mine and it doesn’t look like it.

The only other devices which specifically tell customers to not remove the plastic film are foldable phones which have super soft, plastic covers on the screen to allow them to bend. Hearing this from Nintendo regarding a static screen not meant to move is super concerning. Was a piece of gorilla glass too expensive?

Have you ever scratched a screen?
