Is there no single player campaign at all? Strictly multi-player?

Pretty much yes. You could in theory play a map solo and block anyone from joining, but you'd be insect food in 30 seconds, so I wouldn't recommend it.

No headphones would be fine. Do entirely your own thing? I don't think that would necessarily work. You're supposed to team up to complete the missions. But it's not player vs player and doesn't require a lot of coordination. Just travel together and kill a bunch of bugs.

Anybody here who has it steam and can let me try it out for less than an hour? Plain vanilla, no mods. I just want to get a taste for it. It's part of family and friends sharing. Thanks!

I gave in. I forgot if I hate it I can refund it. Hopefully I get 60 hours out of this, I got the Citizen's Edition. 90% downloaded. Let's kill some roaches!

Honest question. What made you think you'll enjoy a multiplayer, online shooter? It's cooperative but it's still an online shooter.

Yeah there's about 10 days a month where Speedstorm slows down and I've found time for story games. Once I get Star Wars Outlaws that will be it for 2024 titles.

I'm not sure what you consider a story game, but Helldivers certainly isn't a game I would put in that bucket. Did you mean to buy Hellblade 2?

You grabbed that comment from another thread that had nothing to do with Helldivers 2, so the comment had nothing to do with Helldivers 2. I don't buy story games solely. I was commenting here that I found time for non-Disney trifecta games.

Again, you posted two of my quotes from two different threads hence my replies are also going to be intertwined. The whole lack of time had nothing to do with this thread and this game but you brought it in. So expand no time for story games to no time for story-driven and non-story driven games, or "any other game other than Disney Speedstorm and Disney Dreamlight Valley."

Helldivers 2 is coming to Xbox Series X and S next month in a shock announcement that sees Sony publish a game on PlayStation's rival consoles.

Arrowhead’s explosive co-op third-person shooter launches on Xbox on August 26, 2025, a livestream confirmed. Remarkably, that's the same day Microsoft releases Gears of War: Reloaded on PlayStation 5.

In a post on Xbox Wire, Helldivers 2 Game Director Mikael Eriksson commented on what this launch means to the studio.

“We know gamers have been asking for this for some time and we are so excited to bring more Helldivers into our game," he said. "We have so much more in store for the future months and years – and the more players we have the more stories we can tell! The fight for Super Earth has only just begun.”

Crossplay across all platforms is confirmed, which means PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players will be able to play together.
