Finally finished The Wreck, definitely hard. This game is going to be a big payout to get to the end.

Director just said a big patch is coming in 10 days to change stealth. I'm slowing down playing till it comes out.

Have a month of plus, can't afford that. I'll just play it again when I buy it.

Thanks Deb, I didn't really see anything where they said they were changing stealth with a patch in 10 days:

This doesn't necessary mean that Massive is going to begin removing failstate conditions from Outlaws' missions, like infiltrating Gorak's base at the Pyke syndicate stronghold in Mirogana, but the studio is assessing different ways to make these sorts of encounters "more enjoyable and understandable" in the weeks ahead. "With the Faction district that you're going through in that mission, there is this sort of tension that we want to create, but we don't want it to feel unfair. And today, I think it feels unfair and, believe it or not, that was not our intention. This [realization] is something that crept in in the last week or so, and it's something that we're correcting already for a patch that's coming out in maybe the next 10 days."

The creative team tells me that it's carefully analyzing data to pinpoint areas for improvement, and ways to ease friction in an adventure it feels players will undertake for years to come. That doesn't necessarily mean that the fundamentals will change though. "We believe that giving players the opportunity to have a stealth approach fits the scoundrel fantasy really well," says Karlson, "and I think if stealth wasn't a part of the experience at all it would be a very one note game overall. It affords us a lot of width and variety in the context of our quests. The 'don't raise the alarm' quests specifically, what we were reaching for there isn't fail on detection – it's implemented in places like the Imperial space stations, where you wouldn't want the whole station to be on alert, so we think that's an intuitive fail state."
Maybe they will change the BS of restricted areas in factions regardless of your reputation level.

Re: Star Wars: Outlaws (2024)

I was trying to help him out and that's the closest I found :)

So I've found that I'm really not a long session player. I like to play a couple of games 20 minutes each a day and then four or five games half an hour each on weekends. It's wearing me out having to finish this in a month but I really really don't want to spend a hundred bucks on a game. So I will play 20 minutes here 20 minutes there on this until it expires and then go ahead and wait on a sale. Once I own it I'll keep playing 20 minutes a day here and there.

Right now I'm cycling between Speedstorm, Top Spin, Pixel Puzzles Ultimate, and this. By cycling I mean ten minutes each on the same day.

I know, and that sounded like what he was talking about, just different interpretations.

Depending on the game and mission/quest I usually have to take a break after an hour or two just to give my mind a rest before going back in; stealth games are not something I usually enjoy, but it really depends on how it is implemented.

It's a Ubisoft game, it will be on sale soon enough.

Considering Ubisoft+ for a month to play this, is that a good service like GamePass for that purpose?

That's what I did, and if it's been more than 30 days from release it gives you 20% off any game (for the $18 tier) while active. I mean after the fact I wish I hadn't done it and just gotten the game on sale and saved $18 but then again I could have hated the game and wasted $40. I have no hiccups in running the game at all.

Ubisoft+ is cool but there’s not much there.

He did mention just to play this game. Definitely get it knowing you'll only play one game. You can get a month when Shadows comes out and test out both (and get a discount on both).

Thanks Deb, that’s not a bad idea. Can definitely hold on the sub while Astro keeps me occupied.

The more I play it the more I like this game. It definitely picks up after the first few main missions.

One thing that surprised me:
Spoiler:
I couldn’t believe that Waka was a traitor. Oh well. He was annoying anyway.

Yeah I've felt the same. I was pretty bored the first 5 or so hours but now I'm 15 hours in and it's gotten a lot more interesting.

Re: Star Wars: Outlaws (2024)

We asked creative director Julian Gerighty about the game's controversial instant-fail stealth missions. "So especially, I mean, you're probably thinking of one of the early missions in Mirogana, which is incredibly punishing," Gerighty tells GamesRadar+. "And for me, that is a mistake, and this is something that we're going to work on improving." He goes on to say "I don't think it means removing the fail state completely, but I do think there are millions of low hanging fruits where we can make it so much more enjoyable and understandable."

Difficulty comes in all forms, and Gerighty wants to create a "sort of tension" in these moments. However, things are currently not tuned how the team intended. Gerighty tells GamesRadar+ that "we just don't want it to feel unfair. And today, I think it feels unfair. And believe it or not, this wasn't our intention. This is more of something that crept in in the last week or so, and that we're correcting already for a patch that's coming out maybe in 10 days."

Yeah, this game is great. I assume Tatooine is going play in a large part of the DLC because this planet is huge and nearly 90% worthless because it is barren. Not sure why you would make it so big unless there are future plans. Would've made more sense to make Mos Eisley a bigger more robust city.

More character spoilers
Spoiler:
Boba Fett cameo! Han in carbonite! Cool shit

Changed the lock picking and hacking mini games to the simplified, nearly automatic option in the settings and haven't looked back.

Re: Star Wars: Outlaws (2024)

Ok so I take back a little of what I said about Tatooine. As the story progresses it starts to open up more stuff. I would say don't go exploring once you get there. Let the game unfold on the planet and there will be more to do as you go along.

On the other hand, that fits in line with what Luke said about it being the most boring place in the galaxy.
