I'll hand it to them....I like the look, playstyle, character builds with a touch of abilities. It looks like a enhanced version of Left4Dead or Fortnite....not too real and not to cell-shaded. It veers from the typical Zombie game to vampires with some new twist.
I'm still waiting for Starfield News though on getting a XB or PC but Redfall did catch my attention when it was first shown and even more so with the lastest gameplay. Sadly though this comes out about one week after Dead Island 2....

Bethesda has confirmed that Arkane's upcoming Redfall will be an always online game when it launches this May, required an online connection, even when playing the game's single player. While Xbox Live Gold will only be needed for co-op, you'll nonetheless need to be online at all times.
“A persistent online connection is required for single player and co-op,” a Redfall FAQ states on Bethesda's official website, which also notes that you'll also need to have a Bethesda.net account in order to play.

I think the fact I'll be playing on Game Pass makes that detail not infuriate me as much as it would have in the past

I know they say you can play this game single player, but it sure doesn’t look like it would be any fun to do so. Seems very much like a game designed for multiplayer and would probably be really hard by yourself.

Well...it is a sort of "Zombie Game"....and much like other ones...be it Back4Blood, Left4Dead, World War Z, Dead Island, Dying Light....pretty much all are far more fun with others in the mix. I didn't see much on Lobbies and Matchmaking on this. But like a few others I get a sense this is made to stay together and use your powers in conjunction with others especially Bosses.

A couple reviews got published early, I guess? I didn't see the specifics. Just a screenshot showing really odd (see: genuinely bad) proportions of a chair and TV in a room.
I generally like Arkane's games -- thought Deathloop was better than most folks seem to think -- but vampire games/movies/etc. aren't usually my jam.
I won't bother installing this, but I'll stream via Game Pass for an hour or two to see if I'm into it. Can't imagine anyone buying it at full price, either way.

If anyone wants to play multiplayer, I'd be down to play. I have PC Game Pass. I did some research and I think I can cross play with Xbox gamers.

My arc went from “not interested” to “this actually looks really great!” to “eh, maybe if it were crossplay” to “nope”. And that was before the reviews started popping up! Not that I put any stock in Metacritic, but it’s at 63 right now.

Reviews not dropping till release day is always a red flag. That being said , I'd be down for some multilayer at least for the first week.

GameSpot gave it a 4/10. Ouch.
I downloaded it and I think I’m going to just uninstall it. I have way better things to do with my time.

Turns out you can’t stream it over Game Pass. So I downloaded it and put in maybe 45 minutes. I’ll put in a few more hours before I shelve it, at least.
The game definitely has issues. I fought one vampire so far and they just kind of fly straight at (and through) you. I don’t mind that the Cultists appear to be pretty inept and pose little to no threat
but maybe that changes.
Apparently single player missions are heavily broken though depending on which character you picked, where even on easy mode you can be swarmed by vampires with little chance to take them out. I’ve yet to encounter that.
I think this will go down as Arkane’s worst game, yes, but overall probably not as bad as some would want to believe, especially after the usual round of bug fixes, updates, and DLC, etc.

This is a Review in Progress since they didn't get their review copy until very recently. But man it sounds like it's a mess right now.

It may be a bit of a mess, but I had a few hours of fun with it last night with friends.

I'm just a little disappointed after so much time with no first party console exclusives coming to Game Pass, our first game of 2023 is one this buggy

Can you truly not play it as single player?
