And to be fair, I haven't played it in ages. It might have a lot of the glitches smoothed over now with numerous subsequent patches.

Just leaving this here :
Embracer Group, the company that ultimately funded last year's Saints Row reboot, has had to re-evaluate its approach to greenlighting new games. In the firm's latest financial report, it essentially admits that the new Saints Row didn't meet sales expectations, while assuring investors that it's still "making a healthy risk-adjusted profit on games".
...
All of this is perhaps best summed up with one particular sentence: "each project has to earn its right to exist." The report continues: "we will increase our efforts to put quality first even further, and make sure we create unique positive player experiences."

I'm about eight or ten missions in...I just
Started playing a couple weeks ago, so I should have all the tech fixes.
I'm on the fence.
I have not had any technical issues or crashes or anything like that (XSX), so that's good.
It's fun, but not exciting. The main NPCs do have personality.
It's a weird balance between "mostly realistic" and then these few weird things that really aren't all the weird. I do miss the craziness of SR3 and 4.
It seems to be somewhat linear, which I like, with a reasonable number of side project things but not a truly overwhelming number of them (yet.)
I'll keep playing it, and so far have had fun, but it just seems to missing some spark.
(I did enjoy the time when I stole a car, drove away, then

Sounds like some substantial changes coming soon, along with the first DLC. May be too late for some but personally I can't wait.

Glad they're still supporting it. I've yet to play my copy due to all the headaches I've read about.

I've actually been playing this pretty regularly (alternating between Diablo II Resurrected and this, and a little time on the occasional Game Pass game as well.) About 44% complete per the save screen (not sure if that includes collectibles, which will not be 100%).
Still nothing magical or awesome, but it is fun enough and has just enough doesn't-take-itself-too-seriously. It's also not frustratingly difficult (although I've pissed off the Marshalls, and now they're pissing me off.) I loved the Castle Kraken questline.
I got it for like 20 bucks so my expectations aren't that hard to meet at this point. I finished a couple of Ventures, now I'm advancing the storyline enough to get as many Ventures open as possible for the variety. I need to type in my codes to get the Expansion pass.
It'd be nice if there was more 'leveling up' - I'm pretty much locked into the skills I'm using so it's not like I'm trying to get to that next skill or power.
Game had some quirks and crashed the other day but I think that was because I had been using Quick Resume too much. I've found that even with Quick Resume, it's good to do a full save, exit, reload of a game every now and then.

Started this today and it's pretty fun so far. Granted, I'm only a few missions in but I love the challenges and ability to earn perks by just playing.
On the down side, the graphics are meh at best for a next gen system.

Price-matching Best Buy, where I think you can still get a free keychain, if that matters to anyone.

With Saints Row having been added to PS+, Circana pegs it as the 4th most played game on PlayStation in September: behind only Fortnite, MWII, and GTA V, and ahead of NBA 2K3, Apex Legends, and Minecraft.
