Deathloop is the OTHER PS5-exclusive time-loop shooter game coming this Spring (along with Returnal on 4/29/21).

There are some new videos released which give us a better idea of what Deathloop is all about. Looks like it could be fun. Very stylish.

You have to complete all missions in a single game day, but are not on a clock and can take as long as you want. I assume if you die, you have to start all over, which could be tough. Don't know how saves will work...

They did. It didn't negate the previously arranged deals.
It's possible that Deathloop might come to Xbox in a year after an exclusivity deal expires, but nobody is saying that yet.

Way back in September 2020, or whenever they were doing the hype videos for the new console releases, I remember seeing the preview for this one and thinking there is a lot of potential there. Hope it’s good, this new console launch needs to start getting some wins.

Delayed to September:

Expected. What are they doing any differently now than they have the past year to ensure the employees safety? I just don't think the game was up to par and they probably got nervous. Let's just hope they deliver come September.

Most game companies have employees working from home. Pretty hard to be collaborative when you aren't exactly next to your employees.

I also do wonder if sales are a concern coming out, as I said, so close to another time-loop shooter. I would probably buy both, but I imagine a lot of folks wouldn't want to buy two such similar games so close to each other, especially with the higher MSRP this generation (though Deathloop is still a $59.99 game). It might be advantageous for them to delay their launch for a few months rather than coming out just a few weeks after Returnal.

I get that to a degree, However, the collaboration opportunities are pretty much the same that they have been for the past year plus. If that were entirely the case, then the game wouldn't even be close to ready. I think it is based off of feedback from what they have shown, and that it was going to come out so close to the release of Returnal. Regardless, we will not be playing this anytime soon.

Huge preview from IGN. I am not sure I grasp it all, but it is interesting that it's more like Hitman and isn't a Rogue-like.

Something about this reminds me of TimeSplitters. That aside, this looks fun, hope it lives up to its potential. I would be happy to invade other players games and fuck up their day.

This is coming out soon. Anyone preorder? I'm on the fence--big fan of Dishonored, etc., so pretty tempted...

I don't think I've pre-ordered a game since the 90s, but I'm curious to see how this one turns out.

This will be my very last $38 pre-order (Best Buy GCU discount + $10 RZ Certificate). I hope I play it a lot more than Returnal.

Looks like we have a winner here. I need to wrap up the two games I’m playing now (The Ascent and Tales of Arise - both incredible), but at least I know what I’ll be playing next.

Wow, I’d written off Deathloop, but now it sounds like a must-play.

Holy shit those are some astronomical scores. Prefect 10s from IGN and GameSpot. Glad I kept that preorder. Should be arriving today for me but I will have to wait until tomorrow to try it out because of MNF at Allegiant Stadium.

This is GREAT to see. I'm glad I preordered too--it's sitting on my PS5 w/a countdown to when I can start playing. Cannot wait.

Fuck. I just put in my first 5 or so hours into Tales of Arise. Maybe I'll swap to this since it should be a shorter game overall to complete.

Just put in a best buy order. After some thought, I decided it wasn't worth it to wait a year for it to show up on XSX / Game Pass, especially if this game makes good use of the adaptive triggers.
Now let's see if I can actually pick it up tomorrow or of this hurricane is going to be a real problem...
