Re: Deathloop - from Bethesda Studios - 9/14/21 (PC, PS5 Console-Exclusive)
I gotcha. I mean I gave up Aether, I believe, but I never used it. The invisibility was too short lived. It seems Shift and Nexus are the two most important slabs to have.
I wish I could farm more residiuum. When I finish an assassination and go to load out and infuse menus, I only have enough for the slab (which is 15000) I just got. Then the gun (8000) a visionary drops, I don’t have enough for to infuse.
I guess I’m moving along. Slowly, but steadily I suppose. Still having fun though. Don’t get me wrong, as twisted and frustrating this game can be, the mechanics and gameplay possibilities are fun as heck. As I said, I wish I were better.
And, I still don’t know how the f I’m gonna kill all 8 visionaries in one day!

There’s only really one path to kill all 8, and the game will guide you there eventually.

IMO, the Peppermill (I think that's the name of it), is the best gun in the game (so far anyways). I'm early on but I use "auto lock" and one-shot just about every bad guy in my line of sight. Maybe try that.
And, like you, I have no idea wtf is going on when I venture into a new area... so I try to explore the shit out of it and note the times of day that make a difference to access areas of that map. I guess the good news is you can go to a place over and over if needed. There really is no right answer for how to play this game.

^^ It's in the Options menu to "snap to" your opponent. The Peppermill does a great job of it (usually)... and I say "one shot one kill" because it's a great gun for that. Not a cheat by any means. I find myself flailing around when I use the shotgun but the nail gun & Peppermill are lifesavers, IMO.

Oh, I thought you meant the option which is in the menus for one shot kills. I know the Peppermill is great. I use that and a silenced nail gun. Does a good job overall.
But, they always see me. No matter what I do and how slow and stealthy I go, one sees they all see and swarm. So many of them and such little health. It’s like a couple shots and I’m gone.
But, I think I’m getting a little better. I mean I have killed 4 visionaries including Julianna once. She gave me shift slab, so after I sniped Charlie from a great distance away, I just left it there. Oh, but I guess I didn’t get Charlie’s residiuum. Shit. Oh well.
After I loop, all visionaries I killed are back, correct?

So if I can only equip 2 slabs and I’m in the midst of killing another visionary, in order to take their slab, I have to sacrifice a slab I loaded. But, as long as it’s infused, I’ll still have it to choose from in loadout, when I die or loop, correct?
And, I did go back and take Charlie out again and take his essence and upgraded Shift.
I don’t see where it’s guiding me to who to take out next though. I had to look online to figure it was Fia. But, I wouldn’t have figured that on my own.

Huge law of diminishing returns factor here. Beat it and the last “loop” felt way too easy and the ending was just “meh”
The slowly unraveling story was interesting up until they throw in a twist that in hindsight was incredibly obvious.

so, i've killed all visionaries in a single day, but, there is no guide as to what i am supposed to do next and how to kill all visionaries in a single loop. where do i go from here and why hasn't the last mission opened up?

Maybe this is common knowledge, and honestly, it seems obvious -- the creators confirmed this is part of the Dishonored world.

I thought it was a cool fact. I didn't realize every post had to hand-walk you thru the game.

It's possible you might need to kill one of them in a different way or a different location, but if you've managed to kill each separately, you should have everything you need to figure out who can only be killed in which spots at which time, and how to arrange it so you can get them all in one day.

So a check mark in the menus means you completed that story line, correct?
So if I didn’t go back and put 4 batteries in the sockets to get the dual guns, it wouldn’t have been a completed mission.
I think I have that straight. So, I’m not seeing The End chapter until finished those tasks in the mission line like disrupting Egor’s desk or whatever, if i didn’t do that, the end mission won’t come up.
I think I get it now. All I did was kill visionaries, but you’re also supposed to do stuff besides assassinate Visionary. like get Wenji to Alkesis party or whatever. Don’t know how I pull that off, but hopefully I’ll figure out.
But, thanks to anyone setting me straight if I don’t get.

I wrapped this up over the weekend. A really fun game for sure. I loved how masterful I became at the controls near the end. There are 3 distinct endings for anybody who has played. I'm not sure what you'd consider the ending I chose... but I did "break the loop".
