The PS5 and XBox series X version will be Zion Williamson

Rumors are 2K will announce a special Legendary Kobe Bryant edition tomorrow. If so, I will be getting that one for sure.

I'm surprised if only because Vanessa seems to want to take it slow with the merchandising of her husband at this point. Plus I was kind of hoping for a Vince Carter one.

Too early for him to get the cover, IMO but I can understand ($$$$) why they did it.

I know this is a money grab/maker for 2K but they should just have updated the rosters and some game features of 2K20 and call it a day. I don't see any improvement being made to this series until the next gen hits the market.

Is there a more stale franchise at this point than NBA 2K?

I know spending $60 a year for essentially roster updates and audio updates from play by play is a lot. But, what else can they really add at this point to improve the experience to make you think that $60 is worth it?

Unless you want to jump in right away to the PS5 and XBox series X version for the updated graphics.

Gimme an offline career mode where I don't have to continually be logged into the servers.

I do think they can still tweak the gameplay (maybe even actually implement a non crappy dunk contest or something while they're at it) but I suspect like Madden a lot of their focus will be on just porting it to next gen properly.

This plus more classic teams, international teams (NBA Live used to have them and 2K at one point had Olympic teams), not having to do away with play to get a stupid update that is only to promote shitty micro-transactions. Loading times hopefully improve in the next gen. Better collision and rebound detection to improve overall gameplay. Improvement on computer AI. Tired of running a fast break and players staying in the wings and not cutting to the basket.

Kobe is the third. Most likely for the special/legendary edition.

So the next gen games will apparently be 10 bucks more. Free upgrade (to the regular version) if you buy the mamba edition, which is a hundred bucks anyway.

This isn't good for next gen pricing in general, though I thought a lot of games (like Madden) will have a free upgrade option.

I feel a bit bad for Dame but I don't see why anyone would buy the current gen version. No way they put much effort into it when next gen a few months later.

The good news is that MyTeam and VC seems like it's shared between generations. The bad news is that I don't see anywhere where they say progression (for myplayer) is shared.

I think i'm going to wait to see how next gen 2K Looks and plays. 20 will tide me over until then.

I might just sit out and wait (again) for the price drop.

So I downloaded the demo and played some of it last night.

They give you only 5 quick games to play (6 min quarters) with an extremely limited amount of teams. There is also a practice mode in the demo.

My biggest observation right now is that shooting and free throws are incredibly hard. I was clanking so many shots and couldn't figure out the timing.

They have changed the shot meter and how you make free throws and it's almost imposable to score. If they keep it like that, they lost me as a customer.

@fujishig 2K has danced around that subject so much, I have no idea what they are doing.

Ugh. Shooting was bad a couple years ago. I’m not gonna take that again. I might pass completely.
